Tanya Westlake is the international award-winning author of the Kalliope Brooks Mystery series, featuring an amateur sleuth with a talent for cocktails, curiosity, and finding trouble.
A lifelong STEM girl and occasional poet, Tanya spent many years in Florida, which inspired the fictional Gulf Coast town of Owhiro and the Kallie Brooks mysteries. After Hurricane Milton persuaded her that perhaps she'd had enough weather-induced trauma for one lifetime, she traded the Gulf Coast for the high desert of New Mexico.
She still writes about Florida, takes entirely too many photographs of interesting insects and lizards, and plans adventures when she should probably be writing. Her next mystery series will be set near Santa Fe.
Tanya posts sporadically on Instagram and TikTok at @tanya.the.writer
