I’m on a mission to help shape the health, wellbeing, and self- esteem of current and future generations through my schools education programme and new book 'Eat Well and Feel Great'. Having worked with thousands of teenagers in schools over the last 13 years, I share my evidence-based knowledge with you with with this solutions based handbook.
Every time and everywhere I speak, I find teenagers hungry for science-based information that is translatable to their personal situation. Similarly, their teachers and parents are searching for straight-forward information as to how they can help the children and young adults optimise their health and wellbeing with easy tips and pointers. They don’t have the time or desire to wade through layers of information across multiple resources - they want a single evidence resource that debunks all the myths and contradictory advice out there. This book aims to answer that demand.
According the department of health teenagers health is in decline and at a tipping-point. Many are struggling with poor mental health and a myriad of health issues such as tiredness, insomnia, digestive & skin problems, migraines, chronic fatigue, food addictions and more. My approach with teenagers is to speak to their relationship with body and mind, teaching them an approach that’s focused on how they can nourish themselves to attain optimum wellbeing, positive mood and mindset, consistent energy all day long, improved sleep, healthy skin and hair, achieve a healthy weight and develop a loving relationship with their bodies and food.
The objective is to have them understand specifically what their bodies need in order to thrive and perform at their best, and in contrast, to illuminate the effects of deficiencies and poor choices. Eat Well and Feel Great's format engages with concise and no-nonsense advice – zero sugar coating, just facts and solutions – to illustrate that in no time at all they can dramatically improve their confidence in food and lifestyle choices. Older teens and university students can also follow the quick and easy recipes and snack lists to ensure they stay well, especially when away from home for the first time, which also helps them avoid nutrient-deficient and costly fast food.
