I suppose curiosity, more than anything else, made me choose being an author. I say choose and I mean it. Art, Law, Music, Design -- all pulled me...But a relentless need to understand how the Demiurge (this world) works... A passion to know how the Monad, the Pleroma and all other hidden worlds interact, made me choose creating, so I could blissfully always be learning. Growth is inevitable for an author with a spiritual bent.
My newest novella, DEAD GIRLS KILL, explores the horrific events exposed in the current news cycle. It is a serialized Suspense/Thriller -- like I said -- incorporating the news cycle. The second installment will be released sometime in August, and the final right after the midterm elections. I will continue the series that began with CURVATURE; #2 in the trilogy will be released near to or in December. It's not a perfect book; it was painful to write; but it's very dear to my heart. Hard on the heels of the very short poetry collection titled I'M AFRAID TO CRY (END DAYS OF 2025) which welcomed 2026 and said "Thanks for the lessons 2025", is a new poetry collection: FIRE AND ICE: POETRY WITH A HINT OF THE SUPERNATURAL, to mark 2026's halfway point -- Midsummer... We survived -- thrived!
One thing you'll find in my writing is that I have a deeply subversive, very dark sense of humor... And I've written quite a few books! Some are rated 5 stars, but -- I love each and every one of them. Poetry, writing and reading have always given me visceral bliss. I've been writing for a very long time -- I was a uniquely expressive child; for me, my creativity is the gift that keeps on giving. So please notify me if you find copyright infringement versions of my novels anywhere. I've placed unique markers in every one of my books to protect my authorship. Aija Athene, Valhalla de Dieu (POETRY) and Valkyria DeDieu (YA: YOUNG ADULT), Jasper Ace (HORROR)- are among my -- Valda DeDieu's -- pen names; Xema Gold is where you will find alternate, erotic versions of an exclusive few novels.

Catherine Coulter is one of my very favorite authors -- a maverick; her characters are always original, a little kooky, and fun. I am grateful to her for having her First Reader read A FINE THING MURDER (as Xema Gold) in 2007. I still have the assessment. Catherine's First Reader did say: "I liked the book and I think Xema has talent." That's enough for me! My favorite Catherine Coulter novels are: THE MAZE and LORD HARRY. You've gotta read those!

Being Caribbean is dear to my heart. Growing up surrounded by the scents, the vistas, the sea, nature and our culture...Creativity, poetry and music are endemic to our DNA, as is a deep spirituality, a sense of the mystic, and dreams. Yet, we've an excellent education system, revere history, science, literature and expression (my favorite professor always used to say: "A Writer Writes!") HA! HA! Ergo, we are born activists. This unique alchemy is present throughout my work.
A delightful surprise was an early Amazon invitation to me to BETA test their AI voices in my audiobooks versions; so check out my novels on Audible, which gives you free audiobooks with Prime membership. Even without Prime, your first audiobook is free. Listening to my books with AI voices was fun for me; they were well-voiced! Not as perfectly as a human narrator, but good enough that I laughed and cried in the right places, and you will too. I make no bones that I find AI a bit worrisome -- in fact, I touch on AI in I'M AFRAID TO CRY (END DAYS OF 2025) -- because I'm fond of irony -- since immorally implemented, AI could tear apart the fabric of what makes creativity a blessing to society. Thoughtful, fair application however, could revolutionize an author's ability to boost their work, cost-effectively, and in general, lift the earning ability of humanity upwards to collective wealth. Just know I never need AI for writing my novels. Writing is cathartic to me. I enter a state of flow when crafting a story that's almost dreamlike, magickal - and healing. Valda Omnia Vincit.
