Shuhei Sato is the CEO of CommerceX Holdings, Inc. Born in 1992, he graduated from Osaka Kyoiku University. As a student in 2013, he started a B2B business reselling companies' surplus inventory online.

In 2016 he joined Funai Consulting, advising reuse, retail, and e-commerce companies. Seeing how far the reuse industry lagged in IT, he founded NOVASTO (now RECORE, Inc.) that same year and launched RECORE, a cloud-based core system for retailers, in 2019. He grew the company for nearly a decade without outside investment.

In 2025 he founded CommerceX Holdings, a "new retail trading company" combining business systems, e-commerce consulting, and brand management through M&A, with the mission of creating the next standard of commerce. The group includes RECORE, Sobani, BrandX, Yuhaku (the leather brand yuhaku), ecoeat, and CommerceX M&A.

He is the author of the Japanese Amazon bestseller "The Reuse Business Textbook" and writes a column for Reuse Keizai Shimbun.
