It has been 40 years since the publication of this classic science-fiction novel that changed the way we look at the stars and ourselves. From the savannas of Africa at the dawn of mankind to the rings of Saturn as man adventures to the outer rim of our solar system, 2001: A Space Odyssey is a journey unlike any other.

This allegory about humanity's exploration of the universe, and the universe's reaction to humanity, was the basis for director Stanley Kubrick's immortal film, and lives on as a hallmark achievement in storytelling.

Arthur C. Clarke always put a lot of work into his research and that is clear in this novel. It was written in 1967, before the moon landings but it feels like it was written just a few years ago.

The story is a very deep one and makes you think. Amazing!

The narration is crystal clear and reflects the ups and downs of the story with change in voice and intonation. It's far better than the computer generated auto reads. This is my third book on Audible, and I am looking forward for more such reads.

The all-time classic read in all it's essence
