Publisher's Summary
A classic BBC compilation of nursery rhymes, with light-hearted commentary from two BBC presenters.
In this popular collection, actors Andrew Branch and Anne Rosenfeld perform over 50 fantastic nursery rhymes, from familiar favourites to lesser-known gems, speaking the rhymes aloud and chatting about their meanings. As they listen, children are encouraged to think about and appreciate the words, increasing their communication skills as they join in and play.
Among the favourites included are: Humpty Dumpty; Sing a Song of Sixpence; Hickory Dickory Dock; Hey Diddle Diddle; Little Jack Horner; Polly Put the Kettle On; Mary Mary Quite Contrary; Doctor Foster Went to Gloucester; Baa Baa Black Sheep; Little Miss Muffet; Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat; Goosey Goosey Gander; The Queen of Hearts; Boys and Girls Come Out to Play; Oranges and Lemons; Wee Willie Winkie; The House That Jack Built and Little Bo Peep.
This unique collection brings to life traditional nursery rhymes with music and sound effects to thrill a new generation, and is ideal for preschool children who can listen and follow along.

I wasn't impressed, but youngster LOVES this
Got this a while ago for my youngest. I was disappointed that the rhymes are introduced by two people who chat about the rhymes and thought that would detract from the enjoyment of the audio. However, youngest completely disagrees with me. She likes it as there are some rhymes she does not know, some she forgot and some she knows well, but are said differently. And she positively likes the narrative parts (says it is like a chatty interview).
These ratings are hers. Of all the audible books I had purchased for her, this has remained a firm favourite.

One of my favorite
There r many nursery rhyme books to choose from and I like this one because of the voices telling the rhymes. If your thinking about getting any audiobooks for your very young children make sure you listen to the sample. The voices make all the difference

British for British
as im not British myself, so these rhymes do not resonate with my cultural heritage. I guess it would sound familiar to Brits and performance is rather good
