About this listen

"I'm a free and independent dog!" That's how K-10 likes to think of himself. But life on the road can get lonely, and as K-10's travels bring him into contact with a range of dogs, he begins to wonder if being a wanderer really is the best life for a dog.

Filled with great canine characters, this novel is both laugh-out-loud funny and deeply touching.

Editorial Reviews

K-10 is a stray dog currently serving time in an animal shelter. Named K-10 by his mother, who believes him to be a step above other canines (or K-9), this snarky mutt is voiced by narrator William Dufris with the cocky attitude of a hero in an adventure film. The truth is, K-10 is ready to settle down, but his distrust of humans makes it difficult to find a good home. When K-10 busts out of the shelter with his friends Pearl and Peppy, the three embark on a series of misadventures that 2010 Audies finalist and one of AudioFile magazine's Best Voices in 2008 and 2009 Dufris spins with verve and excitement. Listeners will definitely want to join in the fun.
