Elder Debra B. Morton is co-pastor of the Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1993 Elder Morton was ordained an elder, making her one of the first female elders to preach in the Baptist pulpit. Her current program, launched in 2007, is The Power Woman Initiative; her goal is to positively impact the lives of women by nurturing and empowering them to succeed as leaders in their homes, jobs, church, and community. Elder Morton is General Overseer of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International women's ministry known as the Daughters of the Promise. Her vision for the Daughters of the Promise is to build and operate a home for troubled teenage girls. She is the author of three books, and is presently penning a forthcoming devotional focusing on empowering women and helping them achieve balance in their daily lives.
