Time magazine described the work as one of the 100 best novels ever written. The story comes to a boil around racial tensions and prejudices. All is set against the backdrop of the British Raj and the Indian independence movement in the 1920s.

Absolutely atrocious narration

The bad: the narration is utter crap. Even if I forgive the reader’s clumsy attempts to speak like Indians, he has no sense of time, pauses, or even volume. This leaves us with a muddled mess which can become unintelligible at times. I have had better results with adobe’s auto read function
Good book marred by p@ss poor performance
