That’s been easy for me to stick to, until the night a cocky, confident, and sinfully charming hockey star walks into my bar. This sexy athlete is too hard to resist, especially when he makes it clear how much he wants the “sarcastic, witty, hot AF” guy behind the bar - also known as me. Addictive listening
What did you like best about this story?
It was very hard to take a break from listening to this excellent story. Not only are the intimate scenes hot and fulfilling, but there is actually an exciting, intriguing and mysterious thriller story as well... yes a STORY! I enjoyed it even more because of this. But lets not forget, the sex scenes are everything you could hope for! Because the characters are carefully built up to this point, it is even more of a pay off.

Solid mix of romance and mystery
i would rank this in the clear top tier of male/male romances. The characters are likeable enough without being perfect, and there is an actual plot around which the romance grows. I admit I prefer straight-forward books (suspense, historical, mysteries, whatnot) that have a male/male relationship rather than romances with a touch of a plot.
So this one really was my cup of tea.
The writing is of good quality and the narration was very well done too, as Jack LeFleur always professionally delivers.

great narrator
A really good audibook. Excellent book to start the month with!
This book starts of with Detective Matthew Bennett getting a missing child call. After the police has a taken a look around, Matt hears a little girl. He follows her voice and eventually her to discover her body and is quickly placed on administrative leave by his superiors. They also order him to see the department psychologist because they think he is losing it.
See, 15 months ago, Matt lost his work partner of 3 years, who also was his romantic partner. He never took time off to properly grief, so Matt's vision has to be the grief he is feeling. Only, Matt's sister in law and best friend Sheila thinks supernatural things occur and that he shouldn't dismiss what happened to him as crazy business. She takes him to see renowned medium Kiernan Fitzpatrick and the two of them set off to solve the mystery of why the dead girl Abby chose to appear to Matt AND who hurt this little girl. It was definitely off the record as Matt was on leave and the medium is not part of the police department.
The subject was a sad murder, but solving it became a form of catharsis for both Matt and Kiernan. Damage from the past has kept them from truly connecting with others, but their sisters (Shiela and Aidan) were the pillars that kept the guys erect.
I love the way the story was written. even though it wasn't a love story, there was revelation and justice and love in this story. It kept me interested from page one until the end and I felt very satisfied at the conclusion. I would love a sequel to this one!

Great storyline and narration! Was sucked into the story immediately.
What was one of the most memorable moments of A Reason to Believe?
Several, but it was towards the end when it was revealed who done it. Was totally surprised and why!
What about Jack LeFleur’s performance did you like?
Did an excellent job of bringing the characters to life.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, since I listen to audio while I commute.

Oops! I didn't realize it was a gay love story...
Seriously. I chose the book from my phone so the cover was tiny so I didn't realize it was two guys and I skimmed the summery only a little. Still, I really liked the book. The story was good and it just happened that the love story was about two guys. The love was realistic and the sex sensual. I like guys so when they talked about manly body parts it worked for me. The sex was nothing like the other gay books I fell upon like say "8 inches" that sex just seemed violent and painful.
The book was about the story and not really about two guys having sex. It was a well written romantic mystery with a great love story, sensual sex...who just happen to be nice guys.
I liked it!

Oh my gosh!
Where does A Reason to Believe rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
One of the best. I listen to a lot of books, but I don't write a lot of reviews. This book was gut-wrenching and endearing all at once. It was one of those books the compel you to just sit quietly for a moment at the end to let the story wash over you, and so decided I just had to make a recommendation.
What other book might you compare A Reason to Believe to and why?
It stands on it's own; I can't think of anything to compare it to.
Have you listened to any of Jack LeFleur’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have not, but I'd love to listen to more of his narrations. He has a wonderfully soothing voice, and I got carried away just listening to him.
Who was the most memorable character of A Reason to Believe and why?
For me, Kiernan Fitzpatrick was an excellent character. He brought the entire story together, plus his little quirks were terribly endearing.

A Reason To Believe
Would you consider the audio edition of A Reason to Believe to be better than the print version?
I didn't read the print version. However, I .love audio books so I would probably like the audio book better.
What other book might you compare A Reason to Believe to and why?
It is a paranormal book. I haven't read another book like this. I liked the character Kiernan a lot. Matt the cop seemed very angry and needed to be handled so carefully!
Which character – as performed by Jack LeFleur – was your favorite?
I really enjoyed the paranormal aspect and it was believable.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
I thought the narrator did a good job.

Love a paranormal mystery
And this was a really good cop and Psychic catching a murderer tale. I liked the chemistry between Kier and Matt, their handling of the murder, the way the guilty party was revealed late in the book, The involvement of Abby throughout the book was intriguing. I would have liked an epilogue to tie up the ends, but generally a really good listen.
I haven’t listened to Jack LeFleur before, he did a really good job of all the character voices. There was good rise and fall in the narration and the flow kept my interest.

Good stuff!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
The first gay-murder-mystery/paranormal book I've ever come across and it was great! Narrator does a super job. I thought the "reveal" of who the murderer is could have been done better - they find out who it is and then spend another couple of hours trying to frame them, and the loose-ends are all quickly tied up a far too easily in time for the end - a cliff-hanger ending could have been better. Still I really enjoyed it!
