About this listen

The number one New York Times best-selling thriller about an airport thrust into chaos by a whiteout blizzard: "A spellbinder" (The Denver Post).

As a raging blizzard wreaks havoc at Lincoln International Airport outside Chicago, airport and airline personnel try to cope with this unstoppable force of nature that is endangering thousands of lives. And in the air, a lone plane struggles to reach its destination. Over the course of seven pulse-pounding hours, a tense human drama plays out as a brilliant airport manager, an arrogant pilot, a tough maintenance man, and a beautiful stewardess strive to avert disaster.

Featuring a diverse cast of vibrant characters, Airport is both a realistic depiction of the airline industry and a novel of nail-biting suspense.

Have read few of Arthur’s work and am always astonished by the detailed research of service industry. This time, heard it and couldn’t complaint on the author’s research or the narrator’s performance

Impeccable narration

The detailing of the events

What an amazing narrative of the events at Lincoln Airport. This is my second book of Arthur Hailey and I'm turning into a huge fan. In some places, the descriptive nature of writing gets carried into a tangent, but overall it' builds a vivid picture of the stage, characters and situation as a whole. This could even be one of the best books to understand the aviation industry of 1960s. The rivetting fictional storyline gets you thoroughly involved while learning the factual details of the airport. Audible experience was brilliant.

The level of detailing is impeccable

The way even minute details are explained and all functions and aspects of airport are brought together in this story is simply amezing!

Just Awesome

Enjoyable plot about the inner workings of an airport. I’m sure things are different now than the 60s when this was written, but you still get a good perspective of the challenges of running an airport.

Fantastic
