Publisher's Summary

The second novel in USA Today bestselling author Penelope Bloom’s Anyone But... series turns up the heat and hilarity with a story about second chances and promises worth breaking.

After Cade King cost me everything, I vowed I’d never fall for him again - even if he became rich and megafamous.

Go figure.

Now Cade is back with his billion-dollar company...and his ability to radiate attraction like a tempting Wi-Fi hotspot. Not to mention his tendency to have worse impulse control than a chimpanzee.

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy it a little when I arrested him for disorderly conduct. Unfortunately, I think Cade liked it a little too. So when he asks for my help, I know exactly what I should say. But something’s fried the circuits in my brain. It doesn’t help that I can practically feel my ovaries humming to life just from standing within fifty yards of him. The bastard.

Still, Cade doesn’t know the first thing about commitment. He lives completely in the moment. I’d need to have a recurring case of amnesia to believe he could change. I guess only time will tell which one of us is the real fool in the end.

Hard to like character ahead

I like the premise for the book, and there was hope for a good story. Having read about Cade’s twin, I wanted to also like Cade. I didn’t. He started out the book being a complete clueless, non-repentant jerk to Iris, and he pretty much ended it the same way.

I liked Iris’s character, she is strong and makes good choices when her world is turned upside down due to Cade’s stupid choices. But while she has to settle for way less than she had wanted for her life, he goes on to be a rich womanizer. And he makes no apologies for it. He’s sarcastic, which I usually like in a character, but at the expense of others he supposedly cares for. Bleh. I kept reading hoping he would redeem himself. He didn’t really in my eyes.

So, story is interesting, but the character is unlikable. I didn’t like the female reader- she made Iris sound snooty, but Cade’s voice was better.

the first book was funny but this one...no

my first attempt to listen made me angry when I heard the female narrator. She speaks through her sinuses. I tried again because I laughed so hard during the first book I thought this one would be worth the irritating voice...nope. this one did not make me laugh that much. It could have been my mood but 2 tries and I couldn't finish this. why try to power through something that should be entertaining? I'm not doing that anymore.

A great romance story

This book was great!! It was very entertaining and funny. Cade was a jokester so everything was a joke to him until he learned he was a father. Then life became serious and he needed help. He called on the one person he felt he could depend on. While helping Cade with his son, Iris saw a different Cade and fell in love with him all over again.

Hilarious

I loved this even more than Anyone But Rich! Cade is hilarious! Loved listening to Iris let her guard down, too.

Anyone But Cade

This is the second installment in this series and is about Cade, the other twin, and Iris, the girl from high school who now hates him and carries a gun for a living. Yea, she is a police officer in town. This starts off with Cade getting drunk and Iris ends up arresting him for punching a jukebox. Just perfect. These two are perfect together. They have a banter that is witty and sexy and once they cross that line there is no turning back. Add in the 5 year old Cade didn't realize he has but now will not give up and they are the perfect family. Cade has a mini me and it is wonderful. Definitely looking forward to the last brother and seeing how this series wraps up!

Cute

This was a cute follow up in the series. Cade is very entertaining and Iris is definitely the only one who could handle him long term.
