Publisher's Summary

What is your art really about? Where is it going? What stands in the way of getting it there? These are questions that matter, questions that recur at each stage of artistic development - and they are the source for this volume of wonderfully incisive commentary.

Art & Fear explores the way art gets made, the reasons it often doesn't get made, and the nature of the difficulties that cause so many artists to give up along the way. This is a book about what it feels like to sit in your studio or classroom, at your wheel or keyboard, easel or camera, trying to do the work you need to do. It is about committing your future to your own hands, placing free will above predestination, choice above chance. It is about finding your own work.

Engaging!!

Loved it, well narrated and engaging! Author has attempted to explain the artist's fear and emotional quotient of art! Must read for all struggling artists if they are stuck in life at a given point where they feel they are not moving! Some insights from author will definitely help!!

Brilliant book

A great book to listen to. Lots of man practical situations discussed that an artist might encounter. A must read for all artists, from visual artists to performing artists.

Creativity in Art comes when there is no fear.

Loved the book, the book is for all who are wanting to do something in life which they never took up with a fear of many trivial things.
Book mainly focuses on art but, the thought process of fear among people is so well illustrated that it makes the book relevant for anything one wishes to do in life, specially things which do not generate any monetary gains...by this I do not mean to under estimate the Art. I am just trying to convince people to read the book even if they are not inclined towards any form of art. Because every person has some sort of passion they want to follow but don't...
