Story
Steve doesn’t know who he is. Or who he was. He doesn’t know anything, actually. Not even where he is. Other than a vast open field of dirt. All Steve knows is that he’s apparently supposed to build a farm. At least that’s his only workable assumption. Given the number of farm-tools left to him. That and the massive number of sacks full of seeds. Unfortunately, this isn’t even the strangest part of this new life. Hidden inside the farm tools, Steve finds messages. Messages that appear in floating windows in front of him.

Story
An existence spent being forced to kill others to satiate a Monster. Where the only thing to look forward to was the blessed, if brief, period of time between paying that bribe. Except that very same Monster is and isn’t Rene. It just happened to live inside his own mind and force him to do what it wanted. Rather than being an actual Monster. That was Rene’s entire life until a fateful day changed that. A day that the career as a hitman for hire built on the Monster’s needs will end. Where Rene will be forced to atone for his actions. To be held accountable and judged.

Story
Sebastian Frost’s most recent memory was waking up in a field naked, in a body that wasn’t his own, in a world that definitely wasn’t his own, and three stunning pointy-eared women staring right at him. He also remembered hair as white as starlight, eyes like amethysts, and the name Shalia. Fortunately, it was the right name to know. Shalia was the elves’ goddess, and that made him her herald.

Story
Reports to write, forms to fill, coffee to drink, leads to run down. Gus’s life was a tedium and boredom he’d grown comfortable with. One that he sought out after he’d come back from his tour of duty. A detective in the paranormal investigations department. A job he could work day in and day out in relative peace. One cold and forgotten cup of coffee at a time. It was an environment that made some sense to him. At least in comparison to civilian life where almost nothing did. On top of that, it gave him a chance to hide what he was from the rest of the world.

Story
Sebastian Frost was a man with an interesting reputation. He’d killed 12 giants, eight heroes, a duke, and even a prince. But nobody ever talked about any of that. All they talked about was the deviant, disgusting, detestable Herald of Shalia that shamelessly laid with elves. That was because in the strange world based on game mechanics Frost found himself in, laying with elves was somehow treated like laying with animals. Naturally, they weren’t calling him Herald Frost the giant killer....

They call me a megalomaniac, but why wouldn’t any red blooded man want to make cute babies with all these beautiful monster girls? They call me evil, but they just don’t realize that I’d destroy anyone who tries to harm my monster girls.

Where do you go when you die?
If you guessed "a hellish videogame world where you're forced to fight for your life, solve puzzles, and sustain mortal injury only to be stitched back together to do it again", congratulations! You got it in one.
Maybe that sounds kind of bad. But hear me out. Superpowers. Beautiful women at my side, some human and some decidedly not so much. And maybe, just maybe, if I survive long enough, I can find out what comes after the afterlife.

Potential lost
The premise is interesting, but the execution is so so.
The characters have enough backstory, there are mysteries to solve, and the MC is on the brink of death every other second. Plus the romance is handled well with the first character. The second is rushed.
The boring parts have to do with the constant descriptions of the agony or the pleasure or the bizarreness being “the most I’ve ever experienced” with more words like that than detail. And the MC lucks through way too much. They screw around for 80% of the time and pull out smart moves in the last 5 seconds.

Teenage wet dreams, badly written...
There is some interesting action of the protags fighting their way through a labyrinth. However, it's punctuated with badly written teenage wet dreams. Had to fast forward through the those as the book progressed. My daughter, in her 20's, that walked in while it was playing was laughing so hard at such a scene she forgot why she came in.
In short, I can't recommend this book.

it goes from sci-fi to erotica halfway through
this book was not what I was looking for at all . the sci-fi part was poorly written with little story or detail. while the part i didn't want (erotica)was overly detailed. like 4 hours worth this shouldn't even be in the sci-fi section

Smuty fun
The book started off really strong. It was interesting and you never knew more than the main characters. As the story progresses it becomes less engaging and focuses less plot. The ending is the only part that felt like a slog to get through. It didn't feel planned or well thought out. But still it's was good fun getting there and the narration wasn't bad either.

good story
the Jury is still out on the story. I will say that I had zero clue where the story was going. the normal story has people dying and reborn with powers and awesome life of battle glory and sex.... but not this story. I would have preferred death I think. I continued to listen.
book 2 is out now or I would have been pissed about the cliffhanger. I will let you know soon about book 2. Waiting on this author for another book is hard. I am still waiting on steel sirens 2

Good but Frustrating
The main character ‘Sam’ is an idiot (personally I feel I’m being nice, I mean he seriously struggles to think past his own dong 90% of the time. it’s funny the first time, and irritating the rest.) And that is pretty much my biggest gripe.
I really like the concept behind the story, and the world it inhabits. I also fell like the characters are written well, and react ‘mostly’ in a way that is coherent with their personality, and development. even if it’s a bit rushed at times, but that can be explained away by the... well a lot of things that work together to hyper accelerate the normally long process. It’s vary well thought out.
However I have already Anticipated the end of the series, as the main plot has only so many ways it can be concluded. One I like, one I’m ok with and is the most likely, and one... well to be frank, if this ends with some kid friendly bull, all “oh wear sorry, let’s be friends now!”, I’m going to Demand a Full Refund and Compensation for my time!

Fun progression but a bit rushed in feelings
The challenges they faced were neat but the romance was really quick like 1 day fast. Narration is very well done. Enjoy the ride but just don't expect perfection.
