About this listen

 Theodor Fontane wurde am 30. Dezember 1819 in Neuruppin geboren. Er wurde Apotheker. Ab 1849 arbeitete er ausschließlich als Journalist und freier Schriftsteller. Ein Jahr später heiratete er Emilie Rouanet-Kummer. Nach seiner Rückkehr von einem England-Aufenthalt schrieb er die "Wanderungen durch die Mark Brandenburg". Neben seiner Tätigkeit als Kriegsberichterstatter, Reiseschriftsteller und Theaterkritiker entstanden auch die beiden Erinnerungsbücher "Meine Kinderjahre" und "Von Zwanzig bis Dreißig", aus denen im vorliegenden Hörbuch von Gert Westphal vorgelesen wird. Theodor Fontane starb am 20. September 1898 in Berlin.
