"White Nights" is a beautifully melancholic journey into the heart of a lonely dreamer in St. Petersburg. Dostoevsky masterfully crafts a poetic atmosphere, pulling you into the protagonist's fleeting yet intense connection with Nastenka during the city's ethereal summer nights.

The novella exquisitely explores themes of unrequited love, idealism, and the bittersweet nature of human connection. While incredibly poignant and a testament to Dostoevsky's psychological depth, its intense sentimentalism might not resonate with everyone.

A truly touching, almost wistful read, earning a solid 4 out of 5 stars. (less)

As you listen through the story, you connect with the characters and their emotions on a personal level. Every emotion that has been expressed has been felt by humans since time immemorial, but especially now as we become more and more isolated in the modern era and our love lives more complicated.

The themes are very touching especially in the modern era.
