In this episode of Stories Across the Table, Bridget Cook-Burch welcomes Linda Bucher, life coach, founder of The Ripple Effect, and someone who spent forty-five years feeling like life was something that happened to her before she finally decided to happen to it instead.

Linda moved through years of quiet difficulty, a marriage shadowed by alcoholism she carried largely alone, five years of fertility treatments, five trips to Russia to bring home three children she loves deeply, and then, without warning, her husband's death in the night. She was a sudden widow with a three-year-old, a five-year-old, and a seven-year-old and no map for what came next.

What she found instead of a map was a book tucked away at the bottom of a cedar chest, a declaration spoken out loud to no one in particular, and eventually a lightning bolt of a realization in front of a website: she was not supposed to find a coach. She was supposed to become one.
