The Vegas Golden Knights fell 4-2 to the San Jose Sharks in their final preseason game on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena.
San Jose opened the scoring on the power play when Dmitry Orlov scored with 40 seconds remaining in the first period. Macklin Celebrini doubled the Sharks’ lead six minutes into the second, but Tomas Hertl cut the deficit to one with a power-play goal with 2:36 left in the middle frame, finishing a loose puck in the crease after Shea Theodore’s shot.
Nic Dowd tied the game at 2-2 three minutes into the third period, converting a cross-slot pass from Brett Howden. Mason Marchment restored San Jose’s lead six minutes later, and Michael Misa added an insurance goal with five minutes remaining as the Sharks held on for a 4-2 victory.
