The Gilded Age is coming back for a fourth season this November! In anticipation, I put together some of my thoughts about what could happen in the next season of the show. I know that this podcast episode will get outdated quickly, but I thought it might be fun to chat about what I’m looking forward to (potentially) seeing in this next instalment of the series.
To guide the conversation, I chat about what actually happened in U.S. history in the years 1885 and 1886. (If season four of the Julian Fellowes’ American history-inspired streaming series follows the pattern of other seasons, we can expect this upcoming season to take place in 1885… though the show has taken some liberties with historic events, too.) From the inauguration of the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor to a new president, suffrage, socialites and divorce, and more, we’ll see where the writers and creators of this gorgeous period drama could take us next.
// What inspired this episode? I'm excited for the next season of "The Gilded Age" to premiere (it starts on November 1, 2026 on HBO Max and Crave.)
