We’ve all heard the famous line:
“With great power comes great responsibility.”
But what if we’ve been looking at it backwards?
We usually think responsibility is something that comes after power. First you become powerful, and then you are expected to become responsible.
But what if responsibility itself is what creates power?
In this episode, we explore why responsibility and freedom may not be opposites, why responsibility doesn't always mean action, and why taking responsibility for our inner world can actually give us greater freedom.
We then take responsibility beyond ourselves. What does it mean to take responsibility for a world we cannot control? Does responsibility mean we have to fix everything? Or can we simply recognize that we are already part of an interconnected world?
And perhaps the biggest question:
What if responsibility isn't the burden we carry because we have power? What if responsibility is how we acquire power?
Not power over others.
The power to remain clear.
The power to respond instead of react.
The power to act when action is needed and to step back when it isn't. The power to live with greater freedom.
So, what are we missing?
