Brad Douglas grew up as an Army kid, the son of a mother who served and later built a construction cleanup business in Fort Worth. After 9/11 he joined the Army and deployed to Iraq with the 101st Airborne as a combat medic. Years later, at 33, his daughter handed him an LSAT book and reminded him of the dream he kept putting off.

In this conversation, Brad talks with host Crispin Valentin about:

• His grandmother Carmen Barraza, and the humility and grit she passed down
• Joining the Army after 9/11 and coming home from Iraq
• Going to law school at night at St. Mary’s University
• Failing the bar after a hospital stay with COVID, and passing on the third try
• How small contractors can build bonding capacity, and why you should never skip a contract review
• Leaving big law firms to start Douglas & Associates

Brad Douglas, J.D., is a Fort Worth business and construction attorney and founder of Douglas & Associates Attorneys and Counselors at Law PLLC.
