The veil isn’t just thin tonight. Tonight, it’s open.

Welcome to the big one — our longest episode ever, and the finale of both The Witching Season and Series Two.

Grim pulls out all the stops for an hour walk through the dark, in three parts: the things we own that we shouldn’t, the things that get into people, and the oldest monster of them all.

Part One — The Haunted Objects. Ed and Lorraine Warren, and the museum of cursed things they kept in their basement. The real Annabelle. And Amityville — six real murders, and the haunting a lawyer later claimed was “created over bottles of wine.”

Part Two — The Real Exorcist. The one the Church takes genuinely, currently, seriously — the real rite, the real appointed exorcists, and a faith so cautious it demands doctors and psychiatrists first. Plus the 1949 case of “Roland Doe,” the troubled, grieving boy whose ordeal became the most frightening film ever made.

Part Three — The Real Dracula. Three true things stitched into one monster: Vlad the Impaler, the warlord who terrified an army with a forest of the dead; Bram Stoker finding the name in a Whitby library; and the heartbreaking, documented vampire panic of Mercy Brown — a family destroyed by tuberculosis, and a grief with nowhere to go.

And then — at last — the secret Grim’s been in a huff about all month. The big announcement. Everything changes tonight.

The monsters are real shadow dwellers. They’re just never quite the shape we’re told.

From the shadows. Happy Halloween — it has been the honour of an afterlife.
