He knows the laws of the forest, what he doesn't know is the law of attraction.

Raised by direwolves in the depths of the Elderwilds, Ash has always been the only one of his kind. His life is harsh but simple. He wakes, he hunts, he follows the rules of nature, and he survives to fight another day.

Then he meets someone like himif you ignore the fluffy tail and ears.

Elspeth is scouting the ancient woods for an expedition hoping to establish an outpost in the untamed wilderness. Shes cheerful, beautiful, and completely unlike anyone Ash has ever known. More importantly, shes not alone, and the people shes working with seem more interested in fighting each other than fighting the forest.

Still, Ash is drawn to their strange settlement. There are shelters to build, food to find, traps to set, and a whole forest of dangers the newcomers know nothing about. In return, they introduce Ash to some equally baffling discoveries: soft beds, money, and the increasingly confusing subject of romance.

Ash could get used to this new way of living.

Unfortunately, the Elderwilds is no place to lower your guard.

A giant, scaled monster is tearing its way through the forest, leaving destruction in its wake. The fledging outpost sits in its hunting ground. Worse, the newcomers are woefully unprepared.

Ash could leave them to learn the laws of the forest the hard way, but abandoning Elspeth and her people doesnt sit right with him. If theyre going to survive, theyll need someone who can teach them the ways of the wild.

And Ash may need them just as much.

With an energetic squirrel girl at his side, a nerdy horsegirl obsessing over him, and an outpost full of beastkin slowly becoming his newest pack, Ash is about to discover that theres more to life than simply surviving.

Assuming he can keep everyone from becoming something elses dinner.
