Deutschland 1940, ein Volk im Kriegstaumel.
Die 25-jährige Elisabeth scheint für ihre Umgebung etwas merkwürdig, da sie lieber zeichnet und Klavier spielt, als den Eltern bei der Bewirtschaftung des Hofes zu helfen.
