Emma Dabiri takes us from pre-colonial Africa, through the Harlem Renaissance, Black Power and on to today's Natural Hair Movement, the cultural appropriation wars and beyond. We look at everything from hair capitalists like Madam C.J. Walker in the early 1900s to the rise of Shea Moisture today, from women's solidarity and friendship to 'black people time', forgotten African scholars and the dubious provenance of Kim Kardashian's braids.

Fantastic Finance Book
Despite not being the target audience (Black Male) I still decided to have a listen as there was a lot of positive reviews, and I am glad I did. Despite it being a beginners guide to finance there is a lot of useful and informative points. This is definitely one of those books that you will need to refer back to from time to time. A must read for anyone looking to make that first step in getting control of and also winning with their finances.

Informative and thought provoking
I really enjoyed listening to this audio book. It was very informative and easy to understand, and relatable too. It has made me take a hard long look at my finances and re-assess my approach, and I have already started implementing some of the strategies mentioned. I will definitely listen to this again later in the year!
