Publisher's Summary

The final Sea Haven novel from the number-one New York Times best-selling "queen of paranormal romance" (J. R. Ward).

For five years Viktor Prakenskii has put his life on hold to take down the world's most feared motorcycle club from the inside. But carrying out the insane violence and seeing their exploitation of the innocent has brought his traumatic past roaring back. And there's only one cure: to see the wife he left behind.

Blythe Daniels never thought she'd see Viktor again - after he murdered her stepfather and left without a word. She rebuilt her life without him, becoming a personal trainer and physical therapist, becoming strong enough for others to lean on. But when Viktor comes back to Sea Haven, he'll make Blythe question everything she thought she knew about good and evil - and the dark desires of the heart.

Not another...

What is going on with this author? I LOVE the Drake Sisters series, loved the first two Sisters of the Heart books, but the writing has continued to go downhill for the rest of the series. Seriously disappointing since this story - featuring Blythe -- was the one I have been waiting for since this series was introduced. Maybe my expectations were too high? But both the hero and heroine spend way too much time being whining and Blythe is uncharacteristicly not her usual intelligence. I don't want to give spoilers, but too much of the "history" of these two is way too off to logically fit into the series overall story. Too much repetition -- and a lot of it whining. At one point I fell asleep during the audiobook, woke up, listened a few minutes, rewound to hear what I missed, and realized that in nearly 20 minutes I had missed nothing -- the her and heroine were still in the same "I don't know how I feel about you but I can't forgive you" and "I left you but my world revolves around you" argument -- and one that had been repeated several times by that part. I was so tempted to not finish this one, or even to return it, but I held out because I hate to leave a book much less a series unfinished and not intact. Unfortunately, the ending was completely predictable from the first chapter.

As for the narrator, she's ok -- nothing special, I've heard better, I've heard worse. I do wish she had more range with voices, but not everyone can do that.

waste of time

What disappointed you about Bound Together?

What disappointed me about time book is the last of story. Is seem the longer into this series Christine Feehan wrote the less interested she became. She tries for the easiest feels and it falls flat. I felt this book was written to complete the series but I would have preferred the truth...it was clear she didn't want to write the book. It was so bad, I had to make myself listen with hopes it would get better. Its sad, I've enjoyed her books for years.

What do you think your next listen will be?

An old favorite.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Lily Bask?

Narration was fine. The story sucked.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

My reaction to this book is sadness or disappointment. I also feel like I wasted my time after waiting 7-8 years for the set to be complete. The auther dropped the ball.

Final story Sisters of the Heart

Feehan pulled it together in this final of Sisters of the Heart; even linking in the Drake Sisters. Both were set in Sea Haven; and the following series, Torpedo Ink is linked in here, too.
We get to hear Blythe’s tragedy; and yes, she was married to Viktor Prakenskii! I didn't or couldn't imagine the conservative Blythe as constructed from previous stories would be involved with the character of Viktor as presented. Feehan pushes it a bit, but makes it believable enough.
Feehan has an amazing imagination and it boggles my mind that she can write 4 different series at the same time: Sea Haven, Dark, Game, and Leopard!?!
My only negative is there were just too many inconsistencies!?!? 1) If Viktor has such a sharp mind and has back up plans for his contingencies, why would he leave a letter to Blythe laying on the bed? And put family and friends at risk? 2) If Viktor didn’t get replies to hundreds of msgs, where’s the backup plan? 3) CH6 Victor’s research found hospital records of broken bones; but CH15 had mom sentencing based on no documentation. 4)CH5 Why does Blythe say she talked to aunts and they said they didn’t see mom drink since college (clear indication of conversation); then CH15 when Elle asks, Blythe said she didn’t dare? Ms Feehan needs to choose a personal assistant or editor she trusts to help with the details so she can focus on creativity.

Bask has a strong mature feminine voice, but it’s maybe 10-20 years too old for Blythe. She is a bit weak in her masculine interpretations, too.

I love all of Feehans books, however...

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

There are certain friends who are involved in extremely alternative lifestyle to whom I would recommend this book.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Reading through the Ghostwalkers series, then on to some Stone Barrington.

Have you listened to any of Lily Bask’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

She is wonderful!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Always do. I listen to books while I work.

Any additional comments?

Christine has gone into some extremely abusive "hero's". I've always LOVED her books, and she is still my go-to author...but I very much dislike the "new" hero. He's a complete bastard and I would make him kill me dead before I would ever submit. I HATE Victor and am disappointed in the turn these series' have taken.

Performance was an issue

The majority of the characters in this story were of Russian origin, but the narration didn’t reflect a Russian tenor.

Best one in the series

Absolutely loved the story. Probably my favorite of both series. Narration was really good. The names were pronounced correct unlike one of the other books. I forget which now but it drove me nuts the entire book that they pronounced Lev wrong every time he was mentioned. This narrator was good and I wouldn't mind listening to other books read by her.

Very disappointed

First of all the narrator sounds awful for the story. She sounds as if she smoked a pack a day for 30 years, she made it hard for me to get into the story. after listening to this I found the story to feel like christine just rushed to finish it. There was many repetitive areas and I was so disappointed. the drake sister books are one of my favorite and I feel she didn't finish the sister of the hearts series well at all. it had all the elements to be an amazing story but it was not good at all.. I'll probably never read any of her books again and definitely won't be spending money on another of her audiobooks.

Another Great Hit!

This last book was worth waiting for!
I stayed up all night , sad it had to end, but knowing a new series is on its way eases the pain. Well Done Ms Feehan!
Am still waiting for the other Sister's too.
It's A Must Have!

good story

The story was good, I prefer audio books, but the narrator just didn't suit, there was no accents like previous narrators and I stopped listening, returned to reading the book instead

Ok but a stuggle to engage

struggled to engage and get into the story but around chapter 4 it got better.
the story stuggles with introducing way too many new people - even as it builds on an existing series. it throws you our of the storyline.

just as good second time round.

I brought this audio book ages ago and it was good then and perfect this to it second time round. I loved Blair she was so brave. I loved her husband Victor and his merry men
They certainly are a hoot. But danger is coming and Vistor and all his brothers plus all the ladies will have a battle on their hands

Bound together

This is a fantastic addition to the Sea Haven stories and the details are, graphic, but I feel essential to the explanation of why the Torpedo Ink members are like they are. I enjoyed the audiobook although it to me longer to get through than if I had have read it myself. But it made my work day commute enjoyable. Christine Feehan is an outstanding story teller and I would recommend any of her work.
