Publisher's Summary

Douglas Kirk is having a bad week.

Not only are groups of human hunters after him, whole werewolf packs have orders to kill him on sight, forcing him to flee Halifax without identification, money, weapons, or even his phone.

If he wants to survive, he'll have to evade the killers on his trail, travel across the country to confront the elusive elders, and learn the truth behind the order that made him what he is.

All he has to do is control his insatiable hunger for wereflesh just a little longer.

Breeds 3 is the final book in the trilogy. Contains violence and coarse language.

please let there be more

Ok I have to confess… I have a man crush on Keith C Blackmore and Sean Runnette. Keith C Blackmore is the man responsible for my addiction to audible. His free audio book ‘The Hospital’ is the story which first got me hooked on zombie audio books. Since then I have spent all of my spare cash on audible while my TV has stood neglected and covered in dust. I found myself going for long car rides just so I have an excuse to get away and listen to another book. So of course when I discovered that Mr Blackmore had another title which was not in the zombie genre I was became a little concerned. Perhaps, it wouldn’t be as good? Perhaps I wouldn’t like it? The stakes were high. But I needed have worried myself, because I ended up concluding my review of the first in the ‘Breed’ series with the following:

"Seriously I couldn’t get enough of this one. Stuff it I am not going to sprout on about this…. just do yourself a favour and buy this one, in fact do yourself a favour and pre order the second one! Every bit as good as the Mountain Man series. Perhaps better!"

The series continued to deliver with book 2.

However, with all of those nice things being said about books 1 and 2. Book 3 took me by surprise. I won’t give any spoilers away, but just like in the ‘Mountain Man’ series this story did away with some of the previous characters… It is probably my only criticism of Mr Blackmore’s books. He gets me addicted to the characters, then takes them away from me. I went through withdrawal pain when Gus was not in one of the Mountain Man series. Book 2 had no Borland. This one has no Borland and a couple of others. Worse of all is I am not sure there is going to be a Book 4. This has a conclusion but could easily be extended. I hope it is. I would like to hear some more character development from one guy in the story (the lonely guy in the old cabin – you will know who I mean when you get to him).

While over the years other zombie books have arrived on the scene and have equalled or even bettered Mr Blackmore’s zombie books (I can’t believed I just said that). His mountain man series has stood the test of time. I suspect this one will do the same. It is by far the best werewolf type story I have heard so far. But I have only just started to scratch the surface on this genre.

As per normal with Sean Runnette’s narration the quality is brilliant but the delivery I find is on the slow side. I sped this one up to 1.5x speed and had no problem listening to it.

So, in summary what does this poor fatman think of this one? I love it! Worth every cent!

Not as strong as Book 1 but still entertaining

I felt empathy for the wolves lost and cheered for the ending. There were slow spots inbetween but Blackmore made up for it in the areas it needed it. Wildly entertaining and a heck of a ending!

A great howl!

I love this series. Seriously, Keith Blackmore is one of the best authors in this genre. Might be my favorite. Left me wanting more.

A Shame...

Books one and two are pretty great! A few plot holes here and there, but good!

Book three is sadly underwhelming. The first twenty something chapters are complete filler. Awful.

The remaining 20 something chapters were hit and miss. Mostly miss.

Sadly some really cool ideas and characters were wasted so our protagonist could roam through the wild and fall victim to black market merchants while trying to understand his true self. SMH.

If you enjoyed the first two, savor the flavor and pretend this one doesn't exist.

The best of the series!, a howling great time!

Rarely do I power through a book like I did this one. I could not put it down. Kirk, Karma, Ezekiel, Morris, Ross Kelly are my favorite characters. Never has the world of werewolves been told in such a unique fashion. There's plenty of gore and action but the best part of Breeds 3 is how much I cared about the "Weres". I truly hope there will be a Breeds 4. I don't want the journey to end! And thank you Sean Runnette for the excellent narration, you 'really made the story come to life!

Solid meh

Interesting take on werewolves, the lore was pretty interesting. The story as a whole was weak, vague, slow, and uninteresting

Never disappoints

I've enjoyed everything I have read/listened to by Blackmore and this is yet another one to add to that list. Well written with the just the right amount of horror and humor. Sean Runnette is the cherry on top.

Well.........

Loved the first book. Thought the second was pretty good, though sort of cruising that down hill slope. This one, not so much. Lots of filler, way too much filler that could have been left out as it does nothing for the story.

Great story but...

As with the other two books, this was a great story. This title was 4 or 5 hours longer than the otjers and my only complaint is that at times it took too long to come to an obvious point on the story... It's like the author added a bunch of "filler" in order to stretch the story...

Romantic Sellout

Geez, where do I start. How does a super enhanced, paranoid Morris get the "Banana in the Tailpipe" treatment? A rookie okay. A vet, makes no sense. Other than that the story is filled with Rambo bullet avoidance lotion and thousand round guns wielded by the hero an heroine that take paragraphs to empty. A sorry 3rd followup to what could have been a great series.

Great story to end a fantastic trilogy

I have just finished the breeds 3 audiobook and i was not disappointed, often when on sequels or a book series there is often a week book or a naff ending . Not the case here , 3 books all spot on ! Keith has tied up loose ends , explained a lot of background history and generally tidied up the story's well here . Sean's narration is brilliant as always . My only criticism is that it has ended and I want more . I will no doubt be starting the 1st book again in a month or so as I haven't had my fill yet . I look forward to seeing(hearing) more from Keith c Blackmore in the future and I hope he revisits some of the characters at some point .
A book just about Moses Morris being a bad ass would do me just fine .

fantastic series

Brilliant way to wrap up this series, a great ending with plenty of twists along the way to keep us in suspense
my only bad point which inst even worth dropping the score is i would have liked to see more on the Alice story line, a lot of untapped potential there!
KCB has never produced a bad title yet that i have encountered, you should definitely add this to you series
Narration by Sean was once again first class! hope to hear more from both these guys in the future!

Great 3rd and final book, the best book in thia se

Great 3rd and final book, the best book in this series. The story throughout was suspenceful and it answered all my questions and had a very satisfying ending. I give it 5 stars. I hope Kieth continues to deliver more great books in the near future. Thanks mate for another great book I very much enjoyed it.
