Brida

This was a simple book, easy to listen to and follow along. It is in the same category as The Alchemist, in terms of content, so if you liked The Alchemist, you'll probably appreciate this book. I would recommend for fans of this author.

Excellent read!

I loved this book and found myself randomly stopping the narration to contemplate the ideologies and spiritual concepts presented therein. This is a lovely story that encourages us to view the world with a different set of eyes and openness to the less obvious aspects of our existence in the universe. If you are a Paulo Coelho fan, you don't want to miss this one.

I wish this recording was endless!!

I feel quite sad that the story has come to an end, but I'll definitely be listening to it again and again. Beautiful voice and a beautiful story.

Not for me

I did not enjoy this book in fact I had a hard time finishing it. The characters left me cold and the story line was ragged. I felt the author was trying to combine a philosophy with a novel and neither clearly presented, It just never worked for me.

Enchanting!

Instant favorite of mine. After enjoying the alchemist so much, I knew there was more for Paulo to teach me. Thoroughly enjoyed this book, and highly recommend it for anyone in need of soul-searching.

Intoxicating

Brida is very well written and definitely draws you into the story. Your mind enters the realm in which the story originates, after spending time in Brida's world, I found myself feeling stunned and dazed, even a bit disoriented, when I had to stop the reading, to continue on with my life.
I am looking forward to reading additional books by Paulo Coelho.

Everything I needed to know

This book came at the most perfect moment of my life... Paulo is a very wise man, and his writings hit points of life people seem very confused about.

This is lead me to understand something very fundamental about life.

Must Read!

Pick up this novel and regain hope in humanity! I find answers to all questions while on my journey in these readings. Coelho once again, speaks directly to my soul and reminds me how beautiful it is to be alive! The story of Brida a young girl from Ireland eager to learn magic and become a witch. The message that resonates deeply, is the quest to be good. The journey to “be good” means leaving behind things and people you might love, only to move forward with what is essential to the journey. Finding balance and establishing boundaries with the people in your life who you consider essential. Beautifully written Brida’s journey to magic is really her search for the enlightenment we all crave.

I love this book so much.

I’ve read the paperback and listened to the Audible version on two long trans-Pacific flights, and basically anytime I need to relax and kill time. Some books just speak to you, and this is one of those for me. It’s very symbolic and meaningful for my own life path.
