By 1535 Thomas Cromwell, the blacksmith's son, is far from his humble origins. Chief Minister to Henry VIII, his fortunes have risen with those of Anne Boleyn, Henry’s second wife, for whose sake Henry has broken with Rome and created his own church.

In Bring Up the Bodies, Hilary Mantel explores one of the most mystifying and frightening episodes in English history: the destruction of Anne Boleyn. This new novel is an audacious vision of Tudor England that sheds its light on the modern world.

This was even better than Wolf Hall; measured prose with devastating effect. Can't wait to read the third in the series.

Outstanding.

The author finally got her act together in this one. The pace of the story, the narrative, the tensions between the characters have been perfectly covered. In the last book, I honestly was left confused on why the book was dragged so much, here the writing is tight and its much easier to follow. Great book if you want to learn up on some tudor history and understand Europe of the 1530’s

So much better than Wolf Hall
