Der sechzehnjährige Randy Kapplehoff freut sich schon sehr auf die Sommerferien in Camp Outland, einem Ferienlager für queere Teenager. Dort hat er seine besten Freunde kennengelernt. Dort stand er zum ersten Mal in einem Musical auf der Bühne. Und dort hat er sich in Hudson Aaronson-Lim verliebt. Allerdings steht Hudson nur auf maskuline Macho-Jungs, der sensible, exzentrische Randy ist für ihn so gut wie unsichtbar.
