Publisher's Summary

Chanakya was an Indian teacher, philosopher, and royal advisor. He managed the first Maurya emperor Chandragupta’s rise to power at a young age. He is widely credited for having played an important role in the establishment of the Maurya Empire, which was the first empire in archaeologically recorded history to rule most of the Indian subcontinent.

Chanakya is traditionally identified as Kautilya or Vishnu Gupta, who authored the ancient Indian political treatise called Arthasastra. As such, he is considered as the pioneer of the field of economics and political science in India, and his work is thought of as an important precursor to classical economics.

Wisdom of the ancients

Chanakya is labelled by Westernised minds as 'Machiavellian', even though Machiavelli appeared centuries later. The characterisation is fallacious. Machiavelli was a one-man mafia who had figured out the bigger mafia ruling them and wrote about it. Only people with sick minds take Machiavelli's The Prince as a worthy advice. I see it as an expose of the ruling classes of Europe. He can't be a patch on the great Chanakya. Chanakya understood dharma. He taught dharma and he helped established a kingdom that propagated dharma.

Good for peace and calmness.

This book is good to listen to in order to know/view things from the perspective of Chanakya. This might help you reflect on a few things. The narration is pretty good in Hindi. Many things are logical, a few things are not, but that's just because the text of the book is hundreds of years old! Listening to this book gives a very different sense of calmness and peacefulness. Go for it if you want to listen to clean and pure Hindi for a change and get a good feeling.

This is a rule book by the Great Chanakya

Chanakya has covered several aspects of dos and don'ts. He was a very strong, aggressive and most successful kingmaker in Indian History. He has given this wisdom based on his own experience and the great Vedas. Some parts you may disagree or find controversial but you cannot ignore his wisdome and philosophy.

Best book based on experience of Chanakya

Ofcourse this is based on historical experiences of guru vishngupt chanakya, these ideas and logics would perfectly fit in today's world. Would definitely help an individual to decide what goals he/she should set in life to have a peaceful phase.

Quality should be more better, overall ok.

Sound quality is average. it's audible, a paid platform. so, expected a better quality experience. Story telling is as usual, not so pleasant. But the book is Very Good and you will love it despite of its average quality.

Absolutely loved the simpler translation.

This is beautifully translated, in a manner understandable to all. A lot of commonly known nitis become clearer too.
