About this listen
Chandrakanta is a romantic fantasy novel written by Devaki Nandan Khatri, a popular writer from the first generation of modern Hindi novelists. This book is considered to be one of his finest works, and it has spawned numerous sequels related to the original story. The story centres around a romantic couple, each of whom came from kingdoms at dissent with each other. Chandrakanta is the princess of Vijaygarh while Virendra Singh is the prince of Naugarh.
Kroor Singh, one of the courtiers in the King’s court at Vijaygarh, is a schemester with grand plans of his own. He intends to seize the throne and marry the beautiful Chandrakanta, thereby gaining legitimacy to his rule over the kingdom of Vijaygarh. However, Kroor Singh fails to succeed in his plans, and is forced to flee from the kingdom.
This story then moves onto Kroor Singh’s eventual plan to kidnap princess Chandrakanta with the help of Shivdutt, King of the nearby Chungarh. This book has gone on to popularise the concept of "tillism" in Hindi literature, after being used as the narrative device that helps facilitate the kidnapping of Chandrakanta. "Aiyars", on the other hand, are secret agents in the employment of royalty who are experts in their professions.
Please note: This audiobook is in HIndi.

Good world building
Very much liked the language used in this book.
Characters are simple & interesting. New things appear throughout the book.
I found second part to be a little stretched.
On Voice Artist : job well done 🏅

Excellent narration ... classic story
Intriguing storyline ... does get a bit predictable in the end. The characters are relatable, they are all imbued with human frailties. I like that there are no superhumans.

Delightful
I have read this story first time when I was in 6th standard and I have thoroughly enjoyed this book. I am looking forward for the other books in this series. This book has a great history of language and story writing. Apparently people learned hindi to read this book when it was first published. Urdu was the most read and written language in Awadh, Delhi , Nizam, Bengal and other regions of India. The complete set is of total 16 books and I request please record the other books in the series. Thank you.

No need to read
I had read the printed book about 15 years ago. Listening to this audio book was time-saving as well as convenient but wasn't as enjoyable as reading the book.h

Hindi story telling at its best
Wow! No wonder Devki Nandan Khatri's Chandrakanta has kept the readers hooked to it for last over 140 years. It's graphic description keeps you engaged and it is difficult to put it down. The narration is superb and does full justice to the story to bring it alive.
Go for it. It is one of the best!
