Editorial Reviews

Bagpipe music appropriately opens this charming yarn. Full Cast Audio does a flawless job bringing Bruce Coville's believable and entertaining words to life. Jamie Carhart's mother proclaims that her daughter has the messiest room in town. Soon Jamie is shocked when she discovers that her room is spotlessly clean. The "culprit" is a tiny brown blur who announces in an exuberant Scottish accent, "I'm a brownie, as any fool can see". The Great Slob War begins as he and Jamie battle until the brownie disappears. When Jamie finds the brownie crying (both moving and funny), they come to a truce. Zesty bagpipe music closes this lesson in friendship and compromise.
