Story
As the heir to a billion-dollar empire, Kian Maston's future was promising - until the day he saved my life. Everything changed for both of us, and there was one more word that could be used to describe him: dangerous. The nation fell in love with Kian while falling in hate with me. He was sent to prison, and as far as they were concerned, it was my fault. I was forced to go into hiding until today. Kian's being released from prison, and he should go back to being the golden boy he always was supposed to be.

He told me to settle. He asked what was wrong with me. He called me an easy target. That was within minutes when I first met Caden Banks. I labeled him an asshole, but he was more than that. Arrogant. Smug. Alpha. He was also to-die-for gorgeous, and my stepbrother's fraternity brother. Okay, yes I was a little naive, a tad bit socially awkward, and the smallest amount of stalker-ish, but if Caden Banks thought he could tell me what to do, he had another thing coming.

Story
The first time I met Hudson Rothschild was at a wedding. I’d received an unexpected invitation to one of the swankiest venues in the city. Hudson was a groomsman and quite possibly the most gorgeous man I’d ever laid eyes on. He asked me to dance, and our chemistry was off the charts. I knew it wasn’t a good idea to get involved with him, considering the wedding I was at. But our connection was intense, and I was having a great time. Though the fun came to a screeching halt when Hudson figured out I wasn’t who I’d said I was.

Story
I crawled into Ryan Jensen’s bed that first night by accident. I barely knew him. I thought it was his sister’s bed - her room. It took seconds to realize my error, and I should've left... I didn’t. I didn’t jump out. I didn’t get embarrassed. I relaxed. And that night, in that moment, it was the only thing I craved. I asked to stay. He let me, and I slept. The truth? I never wanted to leave his bed. If I could've stayed forever, I would have. He became my sanctuary. Because - four hours earlier - my twin sister killed herself.

There were always whispers about my roommate at Hillcrest Academy. The wealthiest of the wealthy sent their kids to our boarding school, and Brooke Bennett had been at the top, though I never quite knew why. She was fun and outgoing, but she kept quiet about her family. The only things she showed me were photographs of her brothers. I became fascinated with her second-oldest brother. Kai Bennett. Smoldering. Hypnotic. Alluring. Kai had eyes that pulled me in and a face that haunted my dreams.

Story
The first time I met Chase Parker, I didn't exactly make a good impression. I was hiding in the bathroom hallway of a restaurant, leaving a message for my best friend to save me from my awful date. He overheard and told me I was a bitch, then proceeded to offer me some dating advice. So I told him to mind his own damn business and went back to my miserable date. I couldn't help but sneak hidden glances at the condescending jerk on the other side of the room. Of course, he caught me on more than one occasion, and winked.

It was just a typical Monday. Until the big boss asked me to make the pitch for a prospective new client. After two years on shaky ground at work because of my screw up, an opportunity to impress the senior partners was just what I needed. Or so I thought, until I walked into the conference room and collided with the man I was supposed to pitch to. My coffee spilled, my files tumbled to the ground, and I almost lost my balance. And that was the good part of my day. Because the gorgeous man who crouched down and looked at me like he wanted to eat me alive was none other than my ex.

Story
She calls it a devil’s bargain. I call it a deal she can’t refuse. I was owed a debt and I expected payment. That payment? One night in my bed. My rules. The debt cleared, and she could walk away. There are worse things. And besides, debtors can’t be choosers. The night started as it should. She obeyed as she should. But then something happened. Something I was unprepared for. And what I saw changed everything. I broke my own rules after that.
Publisher's Summary
I shouldn't have remembered him. He was just a guy who walked through a restaurant. I didn't know his name. We never made eye contact. There was no connection between us at all. But I could feel him. The tingle down my spine. The command in his presence. The snap of tension in the air around him. That was the first time I saw him, and I was captivated. The second time was different. He was in the mysterious back elevator of my apartment building. Our eyes met for a fleeting second before the doors closed, and I was staggered. My breath was robbed. My senses on high alert. My body hummed. That was just the beginning. He was the leader of the mafia. I was about to fall in love with him, and his name...Cole Mauricio.

Great but could have been better
The story was excellent. The narrators did an excellent job, however the female narrator was too youthful sounding for this story. A more mature sounding narrator would have been a better fit for the story theme and characters. It was slightly distracting to me as a listener/reader. Other than that it was excellent. If you can handle the voice not fitting the characters than check it out.

There are hardly words....
I LOVE Tijan, I have devoured EVERY book she has written, and read or listened to most more than once.
This story is no different- however, I think it's best left in print.
This narrator is indeed talented, and I believe has the ability to make a story a great listen... just not this one.
It didn't work for me, it felt wrong and made it hard to listen to the story.. distracting and unsettling.

JUST BAD VERY BAD
Laura Darrell was the worst narrator I have ever heard. She sound like a 5 year old child and could not change her voice for each character. I really tried to listen to this book all the way through, but I just couldn't, it was that bad

SADLY IT DIDN'T QUITE DELIVER
I loved loved loved Carter Reed and had this book preordered eagerly awaiting its release.. but unfortunately it didn't quite live up to my expectations. It could've been because of the 'too young' narration which didn't fit the characters, it could've been because I was expecting more than just TWO chapters from Cole's POV.. or it could've been because of the storyline.
For me, the first third of the book dragged on a bit too much before Addison eventually spoke to Cole, she kept secrets from her best friend who had supported and stood by Addison through, and long after, her husband's death.. and any sex scenes were tepid, weak and extremely mild. However, on the plus side there was mystery, secrets, a twist or three and Cole.. well he was everything I hoped he'd be - protective, mysterious, loyal, sexy, dangerous.. and smokin hot.
Worth a credit? Sorry, but it's a 50/50 this time round.

Cole & Addison Story
Okay, yes, Cole was really good.
Before I get to my review, the guy narrator had a slow, low voice, when he was reading Cole part, I mean only 'Cole' 2 parts in the book. Lol!
Anyways, this story was good, different from the other books I read by Tijan, but I can say I like me some Cole, but he will never replace Logan Kade, nope lol. When I was reading this book, I figured it was a reason why Dorian didn't like Addison. Humph, now I see why he didn't like her, I also didn't see that coming at all in the situation with her (Addison) in-laws (Liam mother) not only her but with DORIAN. Smh, Glad it ended with a happy ending.
P. S. CAN'T WAIT TO READ ABOUT CARTER REED!

The story and narration was awesome. Everything on point. But Stephen only had a few sections in the whole story. Would love to see more of a dual POV. Still would recommend this to everyone.

Meh...
I never posted my review when I read this book a while back so I am adding it now.
This book was pretty middle of the road for me. I don't really have much to say about it, nothing was really noteworthy. The narrator did a good job though.

Returned the book
I read the book and loved it! Then purchased the audio book to listen to on the go. Since the book is called Cole, and two narrators are listed, I thought it would be read by both the male and female narrators.
Unfortunately, I never heard the male narrator. I would have been able to deal with the miscast female voice if there was a strong male voice to balance it.
Listened to the first six chapters and didn't hear him. So I started to skip to the next chapter and the next to try and hear his POV.
It is a very good mafia book that is best read. Save your credit.

Well worth the wait
Hooked!!! From the first page. As a huge fan of Tijan's writing I wasn't surprised, especially due to the fact that Carter Reed is up there in my Top 10 favourite book boyfriends ever. Cole Mauricio (who we met in Carter Reed) is now my ultimate mob boss. I'm so fickle! First up we meet Addison Bowman, widowed a year earlier and her dreams/nightmares are still plaguing her. Leaving the home she shared with her husband she moves into the illusive, exclusive, Mauricio building where she eventually meets and befriends Cole. Unaware that Cole is the owner of her building and one of the most powerful people in the city, a relationship forms. Addison is aware that there is a lot more to Cole than he's willing to share, but he actually makes her 'feel alive' something she's not felt in a year. It turns out that there is a lot more happening in both their lives and nothing is quite as it seems. With so many twists and turns, intense chemistry between all the characters and a wonderfully written story, I cannot praise the book enough. Well worth the wait.
I loved the narration, just perfect.

Good story
I bought this book because Stephen Dexter was advertised as one of the narrators. Imagine my utter disappointment to find he only narrates one 15 min chapter. Ms Darrell’s performance was very good, however her attempts at the male voice sounded ridiculous. Alpha male sounding somewhat pre-pubescent, when I was expecting the wonderful tones and performance from Mr Dexter. Thought I’d mention it to give fans of Mr Dexter’s performances the heads up. He’s not really in it.

Another amazingly suspenseful Tijan story!
What a rush! Cole’s story was so exhilarating and heartwarming all at the same time. Despite the secrets, mystery and deceit, Addison and Cole were able to not only survive but thrive. Their connection and love was real and raw. The narration of this book was done so well by Laura and Stephen!

Enjoyable but not what I expected
I think I was expecting it to be a lot more like the Carter Reed books but it was very different. There wasn’t as much drama & action. The guards weren’t as big of a part as the were in Carter Reed. There just wasn’t as much Mafia related stuff happening, everything was just ‘mafia business’ that was done off script. Also the steamy scenes seemed to be cut short before they even began a lot of the time which was unlike the Carter Reed books. I liked that Cole was much like Carter in the way he loved & treated his woman, but I don’t think anything comes close to the connection between Carter & Emma!
Over all I enjoyed the love story but as a mafia romance I just felt like it didn’t really hit the mark.
I enjoyed the narrators performances.

NEVER A LET DOWN
I loved this book! Compared to the other books Tijan has written, this is actually one of the more lighthearted books (compared to her other ones by Tijan, not compared to the typical genre). This has an extremely awesome romance, and I am saying awesome because while it is cute, that brings forth the kind of sunshine and rainbow theme which this does not have - therefore, it is awesome. Tijan writes amazing stories and I have yet to be disappointed with one of them. It is hard to describe the kind of genre this story is for me because while it is romance, it is also action, crime, and a few others, so this is like all the more serious genres mixed together with the addition of a bit of romance. I always say this, but that is because it is so true. I definitely don't regret reading this book and would recommend it to those that love this genre. I loved listening to this book!

Not Tijans best
This is an ok book. The female narrator is too young for the character. But aside from that the story feels hurried just not Tijans usual romanticing etc
Still a lovely way to get a glimpse of Coles life and to hear from my fav duo, Emma and Carter!
