Publisher's Summary

Honorably discharged from the Army after an explosion nearly killed her, former military psychiatrist Brooke Adams has set up shop to help others - but her days of helping military personnel are over. She's got her own battles to fight from her time overseas, and she's not equipped to take on more. Former Army Special Ops Sergeant First Class Asher James could handle anything that war sent his way - terrorists, bombs, bullets. The only thing that scares him now is sleep. As the shadows close in, the nightmares begin.

Finally convinced that he needs help, Asher makes an appointment with a counselor, and Brooke is pressed by her boss to take him on. When he arrives at her office she isn't there - but a dead body is. Brooke is devastated when she walks in, and Asher is a conveniently strong shoulder to cry on. But she can't take him on as a client after sharing such an intimate and unprofessional moment, can she? And he's not sure he can handle sharing his deepest fears with such a beautiful woman.

When it becomes clear that Brooke was the real target of the attack - and that her secrets go even deeper than his own - Asher vows to protect her no matter what.

Dark Plot

Geez Louise what a dark plot! I think I’ve read (and LOVED) everything Lynette Eason has written, but was completely taken aback at how dark this plot was! Spoiler alert- children used for organ harvesting, and the American military pulled into the sinister plot! I was within an inch of not listening to the end.

I liked everything

I like this author and I like the reader, Who used a lot of expression and energy in her performance. The story kept my interest the whole way through. I wouldn’t say it had a surprise ending or anything but I found it interesting and the characters came alive in the story. I would read this author again and I recommend this book but it’s not for the faint of heart.

I couldn't relate to the story with the Reader

the person reading doesn't do justice to the story, had to quit listening
This story needed someone who could do a Male voice as well, she couldn't sounds like female character's, some women readers can do justice for both. This one cannot

Another great novel

This one had me listening almost nonstop. The suspense and trying to figure out the bad guy were enough to keep me riveted in place listening to this book.

Romance? Nah....

I really enjoyed this story. It kept my interest the whole time! I was disappointed however, because I chose this in the romance section and there was very little romance in the story. I love a good romance novel, and this definitely was without. But again, great story! Some drama maybe, action.. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys action, suspense, or drama.

Lynette Eason is always good, but this one was current and riveting! Loved the tie in to our military in Afghanistan.

Great story!

The military story in Afghanistan was eye opening. Also the PTSD and how it effects those in a traumatic situation. I appreciate the insight into terrorism and life in a war torn country.

Another great read

Loved the story line. It kept me interested. The twists were often unexpected. I appreciated the assurance that God is there even through the doubt and the tough times.
Great job, thank you!
