Wonderful romp, narration a little robotic
This story is just so much fun. One of the most delightful, funny and entertaining of Heyer’s stories
The narration was a little peculiar. I felt intonation was often off and the speech stilted like a robot. Certain words like Phaeton wore pronounced in an odd way. But once I got used to it I was able to allow the lively story to carry me off.

Love this version
Georgette Heyer is beyond compare and I've always enjoyed this book. However Raj Ghatak really brought the story to life. Giving Dolph an Irish accent was fantastic! I will definitely listen to this again. Can he please narrate all Georgette Heyer novels!?

Great fun.
I love this book. The Penguin recording is really great. In particular Raj Ghatak reads Dolph superbly. I was so glad there were no loud music interludes this time.

Glorious!
This is one of my favourite Heyer stories. I was anxious that it had been rerecorded but Raj Ghatak has done a fantastic job. He is comfortable with Heyer's language, understands all the nuances of the plot, has an array of wonderful accents and seems to enjoy telling the story. I'm now a fan and will watch out for things he does in the future. Raj, thank you.

Equally as good as the previous Audible version
I love the previous version of this book, sold on Audible by Phyllida Nash, and listen to it often. I purchased this one as I love the story and wanted to compare them. This is equally as good - but in places sounds like a different story due to the new voices for much loved characters. In other recent books the comparisons have been awful - but this is a keeper!! I love Lord Dolphinton having an Irish accent in this version, which brings out a different character. Similar can be said for Freddie and Devron. Now I can pick which version I want to listen too on a wet winters night.
A pleasant listen to an excellent Georgette Heyer story.

Excellent listening
I bought this version by mistake thinking I had lost my beloved Phyllida Nash version, and at first suffered from something of a culture shock on hearing such a different voice. But I was interested to hear a fresh interpretation and gradually found there were still plenty of laughs. I gained a whole new insight into Kitty's powers of emotional blackmail!

Great book, fair narration
One of Georgette Heyer’s best regency novels. The narrator does a pretty good job. Occasionally some of his emphasis was a bit off but his voices for the characters were good and most of his pronunciations were accurate and I enjoyed listening.

Excellent story and narration
Although the plot was quite convoluted it was a great story. One of my favourite Georgette Heyer regency novels. The narration was particularly good with each character easy to identify. I shall definitely look out for more audio books narrated by Raj Ghatak

A favourite Heyer
This is one of my Favourite Heyer novels, one I have read many times. Now I have discovered the pleasure of listening to them as well. This was a brilliant well interpreted reading by Raj Ghatak, an enjoyable quiet subtlety of characterisations with none of the over the top exaggerations performed by many other narrators. Recommended listening if you like this book.

Love this book, but dislike the narration
This is an excellent story by Georgette Heyer. The narration is awful, I couldn’t get past Chapter 1 and will go back to my original narration. The accents particularly Lord Dolphinton’s are annoying, why that Irish accent? Yes he is an Irish peer, but he probably spent more time in England.

A lively story of an ingénue
Kitty Charing takes her chance to join London society by talking one of her guardian’s grand nephews into a sham engagement. The innocence resulting from her country upbringing combined with her wish to help others in trouble leads her be involved in situations where she is made aware that all is not necessarily as it seems. The voice acting is very good and captures each character well. I enjoyed this new rendition of an old favorite tale from Georgette Heyer and will listen to it again.
