Eight years ago, he set himself a goal to be the first person to climb Nanga Parbat, Naked Mountain in the winter. Famous Himalayan mountaineers entered the race, but “Czapkins” didn't want to compete. He wanted to climb the mountain on his own terms...

The author, Dominik Szczepański, witnessed Mackiewicz's struggles with the Naked Mountain himself during the famous expedition in 2016. In this book he created a multilayer portrait of the mountineer, based on the stories told by his father Witold, his ex-wife Joanna Kondracka, his friends from Poland and Ireland, and many others.
