Nachts in einem alten Guavenbaum wird ein ganz besonderer Pilz geboren: ein Plastikfresserchen. Es hat Plastik einfach zum Fressen gern. Und es hat großen Hunger. Es frisst sich so nach und nach durch eine Plastiktüte, zwei Käseverpackungen, drei bunt geringelte Polyestersocken, vier Shampooflaschen und einen Haufen achtlos weggeworfener Flip-Flops. Massenbilligware! Beinahe wird ihm davon ein bisschen schlecht. Als es dann noch einem Walfisch begegnet, der von Plastikmüll geplagt wird, und vor einem Riesenberg an alten Plastikflaschen steht, platzt dem Plastikfresserchen der Kragen. Zuviel ist zuviel. Doch da bekommt es Hilfe. Eine humorvolle Kurzgeschichte zum Nachdenken über das Plastikmüll-Problem.
