I don't always break the rules of space-time, but when I do it's for an audio book. A GREAT audio book. A fantastic series. Pavi kicking nuts as usual, nice job!

this volume can be summed up by "stuff happens and main character gets lucky." very little of what transpires is due to his own competence.

Is what it is at this point...
MC is an idiot. Completely reactive and has no instincts for other people... no changing it apparently
There is no character development or anything resembling interpersonal growth
Can still be called "Zach asked in confusion" part 7 or whatever
Most of the entire book takes place in one location that no matter the description of the immediate area, just feels like the entire thing takes place in a medium sized room. Just saying "they traveled for hours" doesn't actually give any largesse to the surrounding areas. Might as well have been on a treadmill.
Still don't understand why Pavi used his most constipated voice for the MC??? sounds petulant the more time goes on.
Sticks out even more with how awesome all his other voices are,in particular the women
You can absolutely hear the imperious nature of Agrass (spell check) and also with Thea Marshall through the voicework.
The antieum sound like nervous yet violent and large bugs, again you can HEAR it in the voice acting.
...but the MC Zach?? just sounds constipated and like he's always trying to catch up with a conversation he's too slow for...

As, if not more boring than the last.
Cultivate? How about you cultivate my attention?
Good narration, not great, just good, but the guy didn't have much to work with.
So much filler. such a long and boring arc in the beginning, such a boring middle. I did not care at all until the end, and I'm not listening to the last one again to see if it was the same thing because all I remember aside from the cliff notes is disappointment.
Book one and two were excellent, three was set up, these last three were trash that could have been summarized in one book.
You spent too long on your build up "TheFirstDefier" (dumb pseudonym by the way,) and now you've lost me like I'm sure you're going to lose many others.
Another wasted credit, another good story gone down the gutter because an author wants to hold it hostage for as much money as possible, or just had the set up in mind with no end game.
Skip it, skip the rest, its all drivel now.

Less is more! Quality is dropping more and more
Less is more! Story is too complex and convoluted. MCs mother is a super high technocrat, sister is a genius technocrat and father is unknown but also some super human. Whole family is hated by the system. MC is superfamous, and can’t adventure or connect to people(removes the most fun parts). It’s started so well with just one guy with some luck. Now everything is connected, to me in the most boring way. It’s a prophesy! It’s destiny. It’s already starting to get plot armored too the teeth. It’s not a story about a guy, but a world steering a guy without free will. So no world or character progression. Story would be better without all technocrat things.
Less is more! Mc is learning magic to fast. Learn all thing in big jumps by plot armored events or eating things. Magic system is so fractured. There is no downtime and slow grind. Magic progress is boring.
Less is more! MC jumps between so many co-character they are not fleshed out and are starting to get one dimensional and the funny cool guy is starting to be a whiny, negative and depressed person I just don’t care about anymore.
Arcs are too long. The tower and every subspace and all fighting just drags on and on. In this book it just started to get interesting in the end when the MC goes to another world, but then the book end.
So authors choice is too just use fillers and give a bit of a cliffhanger to sell books. Quality is just dropping. Not sure if I will go on as the development of everything is just painted into a corner that will just go nowhere!

Depressing, contrived and muddled
Powers (by whatever mechanism: skill, Tao, soul, aura, array, treasure, technocrat) lack cohesion and structured development. They seem contrived and mold to whatever plot narrative the author has decided to follow. Character development has died. They have no depth, no empathy and there's no impact from any events, no matter how traumatic; they just carry on trying to get more powerful, whatever. New story arcs are too numerous underdeveloped and too long. They also all take irritating and frustrating directions. The promise and potential of earlier novels is squandered. Feel good factor has gone. It does get better towards the end, but not my favourite in the series.

Great fantasy, detailed and multifaceted world
I love all the different sides of the story and the attention to detail. Can't wait how every piece will fit together.
Hours of great material but maybe not for the most impatient listeners.
Love epics? Yes, this is for you
Detailed vast world and story? Definitely for you

One of the best so far
This was excellent, lots happens and we are getting more insight into the wider world created. I liked the moments of humour too. There are some nice twists and surprises as well.
If you enjoyed the previous audio books you will enjoy this one. I liked the pace of this book it was faster than the previous one.
The narrator does a fantastic job.
I eagerly anticipate the next book

Made it this far, but I no further.
The ideas, world-buiding and sheet scope of creativity here is incredible. However, the writing is really what holds this back and what has finally broken me.
Yes, I want to see Zach get stronger and follow his journey to the end, through all his trials. However, the author's limited writing style and over-use of phrases and sentence types, is the trial that finished me as a reader. If I hear the phrase 'In an instant ' one more time, I'm actually going to scream! It gets to the point where you feel like you are staring at a mirage in a language dessert. You crave a nuanced, original piece of descriptive writing, but it's just the same thing on repeat; simple sentence with an adverb tacked on the end. 'He asked curiously ', being a case in point. I kept hoping the sheet amount of writing he was doing would allow him to develop as a writer, but it just isn't happening. So, the author may have level 200 creativity, level 215 writing speed and monstrous dedication, but his writing skill is stuck firmly at level 5.
Thanks for the ride, and good luck with the journey.

Disappointing, boring
I’m 4 hours into the book and honesty I’m bored to death. Nothing exciting happens. Boring dialogue. Nothing new in the techno realm. Same combat scenes repeated a thousand time. Most of Zach’s allies are trash, they get themselves into some deep sheet and Zach comes to save the day with ease. Most of the stuff that happens in the first 4 hours is of little interest. Also, there is no recap of Zach’s skills or major plot points. The last book was a couple months ago and I can’t remember exactly what his abilities do especially after he evolved and got a bunch of new ones. The strength progression of the main character is so convoluted by this point I have no feel of how Zach is getting any stronger if at all. I’m not feeling any tension in the story and I don’t care about 95% of the characters because they’re so bland and uninteresting.

he's finally off boring earth. this series is good but two book worth of content could have easily been cut out of the seven and the story wouldn't have suffered but improved. the author needs to speed up the mc growth and to stop making every little goal/trail of the mc a long epic full of constantly escalating circumstances. it's a done to death trop, a little is fine because it makes it harder to guess the flow of plot events, but if you're constantly escalating everything (e.g. power of enemies, stakes of failure, the risk to mc, size and scale of events) it just make it less believable and imaginable, and start to sound like the ramblings of a 8 year old who can't tell a coherent story.

Defiance of the Fall is a standout series
Defiance of the Fall sets itself apart from other litrpgs by starting off further along the power grind rather than starting from nothing. This allows the series to get to more amazing setpieces earlier and the seventh book keeps on giving. It has closed off one arc and started another. can't wait to keep reading this series

Brilliant
Loved all the books in this series, please don't let this be the end. Too many of these LIT RPG books never come to the conclusion that they build towards, I've been stung before to find that the final book isn't going to be available on this platform. I've paid for 7 so far, not getting to the end now would be painful considering how amazing this story is.

This will be my last one.
While I loved the first few.
The detail on the mechanics of the system. And the fact that Earth has been saved. Has seen my interest wain.
Story aside. The narrator did a great job!

thoroughly enjoyable
little slow in the beginning but a fantastic move forward in the plot, complex characters and good motivations.

pretty good
another good addition to the series, bit ridiculous we aren't d grade yet.
voices great all the way until last hour reintroduction of old and some new characters. choices for tone were really bad. bratty girl, like she's 14 and the droggers sounding stupid af but have intelligent dialogue did not fit well at all.
