Publisher's Summary
Hell knows that Rys is awake, and his old employers are keen to enforce his original contract. But there's a key difference between now and the last time he worked for them.
They're stuck in Hell while he reigns in Harrium. He has no plans to serve his former masters.
But despite the infernal powers circling him like vultures, Rys has unfinished business he needs to resolve. The Malus League retreated to lick its wounds after their confrontation with him, but he lacked the power to crush them once and for all. That needs to change and to do that he must reinforce his armies and construct alliances. If only the foxes from abroad would stop meddling in his affairs...
Rys has enough on his plate without it being smothered in fluffy tails all the time.
Demon's Throne is an empire-building series with violence, undefined relationships, beast girls, and scenes that don’t fade to black. Consider yourself warned.

highly recommend
one could argue that this author is a relatively low level or independent short of author and yet I find the writing quality all around. I've greatly enjoyed the gentleman's storytelling and even picked up one of his earlier series that for all intensive purposes appeared to have been dead. it appears now that he's gone to a point in this endeavor where he's able to revisit that and it'll end up being a trilogy so I'm going to get to the ending of that story. this one in my opinion has got some legs on it and I can easily seeing it being 6 to 10 books in total. the narrator is one of my all-time favorites and here again she delivers an amazing performance. by the time this audiobook came out I had already been through the story a half a dozen times at least. this book sees the main character and Supporting Cast solidifying their hold over the island in its entirety. I have my fingers crossed that there is some sort of a happy ending for the woman used as a replacement for the Queen's daughter. I'm intentionally being vague because I'm trying not to ruin anything for someone new to the series. I am very interested in seeing what happens next and in which direction our main character is going to strike out in his effort to apparently conquer the world and ultimately gain his freedom. lastly I'll just say Well done to everybody who had a hand in bringing the story to us, the audible listeners.

Bigger, More Complex, Better.
Hell knows Rys is back, and several powers outside of Hell are starting to notice him as well. The KoK (still funny) tries to carefully choose their battles so they don't find themselves at war with more than one kingdom. More demons, sorcery, and coffee ensue from the growing tension. All while being narrated by one of the best voice actors in the business.
This book almost felt like two stories in one. The first story consisted of politicking with fluffiness of all shapes and sizes, from the adorable to the downright terrifying. The second story involved concluding the final confrontation with a country of hostile mages. Both scenarios were equally enjoyable, with a lot of character (corrupting) development amongst several of the protagonists' companions. Mystery and intrigue still hold strong in the series as more questions are found as answers unfold. For the cherry on top, the spiciness was pleasing, with some of the intimate moments being purposely comedic (which was refreshing). Like books 1 and 2, the main frustration with this series is waiting for the next book to be released.
Overall, this is a great story that keeps getting better. Will pretend to exercise patience until book 4.
