Es ist der erste große Mordfall der jungen Kriminalkommissarin Carmen Henning, und zugleich auch der bunteste - wortwörtlich. Denn die Leiche wird in einem Stuhl im Park sitzend, von oben bis unten gelb angemalt aufgefunden. Schnell wird klar, dass es sich bei dem Toten um den berühmten Künstler Broski handelt. Hennings Arbeit wird auch dadurch nicht leichter, dass ihr für diesen Fall ausgerechnet der verhasste Kollege Albert Schneider, dessen Methoden sie für äußerst zweifelhaft hält, zugeteilt wird. Während Henning und Schneider angestrengt versuchen, so etwas wie eine Zusammenarbeit zustande zu bringen, taucht schon die zweite Leiche auf - diesmal komplett in Grün.
