Publisher's Summary

The Methodist and the highwayman: heaven, meet hell...

Her pious father’s murder leaves Faith Montague orphaned and lost on the dangerous road to London , only to be rescued by a notorious highwayman. Morgan de Lacy, a lawless rake with the bearing of a nobleman, treats her finer than those who should have loved and protected her. Recognizing a fine gem when he sees one, de Lacy sets about seducing his orphaned companion. His caresses incite passion…his fiery kisses tantalize, and Faith is in peril of losing herself to temptation.

She may be the brash Irishman’s captive, but pride will not allow her to surrender to a man whose lust for revenge terrifies her.

the author does NOT use racist language

in reference to a review submitted by "Jessica" on 6 18 19. Jessica can't believe in 2019 to think the author would use the n-word when in fact the author used the word niggardly. which means stingy or miserly. it is 2020 now and I hope that jessica's vocabulary has improved and she can tell the difference between a racial slur and a common word of the era.

I enjoyed this one.

I must say I am a fool for an Irish brogue and this narrator did a great job in that regard. The story kept my attention and I enjoyed it. There was a little too much self sacrifice going on for me to give it any more stars, but it was entertaining with a good supporting cast!

The Methodist and her Rogue

A wonderful tale of heartache and true love. After her father is murdered Faith is lost as she tries to make her way to London. Morgan De Lacy is highway man getting back at the English for all that was done to his family! He comes across what he thinks is a child and takes her back to his cottage. It isn’t until he finally gets a real look at he and feel that he realizes his little Methodist isn’t as young as he thought. He will try his wiles into seducing her. A wonderful read with many peaks and valleys.

Love This Book

It's perfectly imperfect. The noble rake, the stubborn heroine, the greedy relatives and the imperious lords--what else does a romance need? Love, of course, and it's there in spades.

Slightly Uncomfortable

At first he thinks she's a child until he gets a glimpse of her breasts and then decided to seduce her for his own selfish purposes. He basically rapes her the first time. It's also annoying and unbelievable that someone could be so naive as she is.

Not the best

Not the worst. MJW does a good job as always. Story is just ok. Never read anything but Patricia Rice before. May try something else by her if MJW is narrator.

Decent story, but very rushed performance

This book was difficult to listen to...the narrator has a nice voice, but there were absolutely no pauses whatsoever between scenes. Very, very distracting.

I think the story was OK, but I think I would have liked it better if I'd just bought the book. The performance really didn't do it justice.

Not recommended.
