Sie war Chefredakteurin von Cosmopolitan, Bunte, Miss Vogue u.a., leistete in Cinecittà, Rom, Öffentlichkeitsarbeit etwa für Federico Fellini, Robert Hossein, Clint Eastwood und Jean Louis Trintignant, entwickelte TV-Shows und TV-Magazine und arbeitete an zahlreichen Drehbüchern mit. 1998 erschien ihr Romandebüt Ciao, Herzi. Karin Dietl-Wichmann lebt in München. Die Quoten-Queen ist ihr zweiter Roman.
