Story
I know I should stay away from Ian Parker. But when my drug-dealing stepdad kicks me out, I have nowhere to go. Squatting in an abandoned shed on Ian’s grandpa’s farm seems like as good a plan as any. Ian finds me there, of course, and he insists on me moving into his spare room. I should say no, but the appeal of a roof and a warm bed is too much. Not to mention Ian’s brown eyes and strong arms. We’re nothing alike, but the spark between us is undeniable. But then I call the cops on my stepdad and unintentionally get my pregnant mom arrested.

Story
Greyson East left his mark on me. As the young girl who first fell for him, I didn’t know much about life. I did know about his smiles, though, and his laughs, and the strange way my stomach flipped when he was near. Life was perfect…until it wasn’t, and when we were forced to go our separate ways, I held on to our memories, let go of my first crush, and wished for the day I’d find him again.

Story
Shay Gable hated my guts, and I hated hers, too. We went out of our way to avoid one another at all times. When she came in my direction, I went the other. When we locked eyes, she’d turn and walk away. All of that changed the day I was presented with a challenge. It started out as a stupid bet: make Shay fall in love with me before I fell in love with her first. That was an easy bet for me to win. I didn’t love. I hardly liked. Yet slowly the game started to shift. Shay made me crave things I never knew I wanted.

Story
I was warned about Tristan Cole. "Stay away from him," people said. "He's cruel." "He's cold." "He's damaged." It's easy to judge a man because of his past. To look at Tristan and see a monster. But I couldn't do that. I had to accept the wreckage that lived inside of him, because it also lived inside of me.

Story
Falling in love wasn't the plan. But how could I resist his promises of hope? Of forgiveness? Of a future I had stopped dreaming of? We were shattered. We were scarred. We were something strange and beautiful. We were two lost souls holding on to the only thing that could keep us together. Each other.

Story
Graham Russell and I weren't made for one another. I was driven by emotion; he was apathetic. I dreamed while he lived in nightmares. I cried when he had no tears to shed. Despite his frozen heart and my readiness to run, we sometimes shared seconds. Seconds when our eyes locked and we saw each other's secrets. Seconds when his lips tasted my fears and I breathed in his pains. Seconds when we both imagined what it would be like to love one another.

It was easy to call us forbidden and harder to call us soul mates. Yet I believed we were both. Forbidden soul mates. When I arrived in Edgewood, Wisconsin, I didn't plan to find him. I didn't plan to stumble into Joe's bar and have Daniel's music stir up my emotions. I had no clue that his voice would make my hurts forget their own sorrow. I had no idea that my happiness would remember its own bliss.

When I first met Jasmine Greene, she came in as raindrops. I was the awkward musician, and she was the high school queen. The only things we had in common were our music and our loneliness. Something in her eyes told me her smile wasn't always the truth. Something in her voice gave me a hope I always wished to find. And in a flash, she was gone. Years later, she was standing in front of me on a street in New Orleans. She was different, but so was I.

I've had many moments in my lifetime, moments that changed me, challenged me. Moments that scared me and engulfed me. However, the biggest ones - the most heartbreaking and breathtaking ones - all included him. I was 10 years old when I lost my voice. A piece of me was stolen away, and the only person who could truly hear my silence was Brooks Griffin. He was the light during my dark days, the promise of tomorrow, until tragedy found him. Tragedy that eventually drowned him in a sea of memories.

Jack and I, we did everything backward. The day he lured me into his office - which was also the first day we met - he proposed. You'd think a guy who looked like him - a bit cold maybe, but still striking and very unattainable - would only ask the love of his life to marry him, right? You'd think he must be madly in love.

He walked into school on his first day and owned it. I guess that's what happens when you're a prick, rich, and you're best friends with the ruling school's king. Also didn't hurt that he's drop-dead gorgeous. That's all fine. I mean, I have nothing to do with them. I'm a loner, invisible, and that's how I wanted it to be. I was even proud of it, until I wasn't. His name is Blaise Devroe. My name is Aspen Monson. He only knew how to get, command, and demand attention. I knew how to do everything but that. And this is our story.

Story
The first time I met Hudson Rothschild was at a wedding. I’d received an unexpected invitation to one of the swankiest venues in the city. Hudson was a groomsman and quite possibly the most gorgeous man I’d ever laid eyes on. He asked me to dance, and our chemistry was off the charts. I knew it wasn’t a good idea to get involved with him, considering the wedding I was at. But our connection was intense, and I was having a great time. Though the fun came to a screeching halt when Hudson figured out I wasn’t who I’d said I was.
Publisher's Summary
Each day I prayed for my husband to love me again.
After 15 years together, he walked away from me, and into the arms of another.
I didn’t know how to cope. I didn’t know my worth. I didn’t know how to exist without him by my side.
All I wanted was for him to come back to me.
Then, Jackson Emery appeared.
He was supposed to be a distraction for my mind. A summer fling. A confidence boost to my bruised heart.
We were perfect for one another, because we both knew we wouldn’t last. Jackson didn’t believe in commitment, and I no longer believed in love. He was too closed-off for me, and I was too damaged for him.
Everything was fine, until one night my heart skipped a beat.
I didn’t expect him to make me laugh. To make me think. To make my sadness somewhat disappear.
When our time was up, my heart didn’t know how to walk away.
Each day I prayed for my husband to love me again, yet slowly my prayers began to shift toward the man who wasn’t right for me.
I prayed for one more smile, one more kiss, one more laugh, one more touch....
I prayed for him to be mine.
Even though I knew his heart wasn’t destined to love.

Another great book by this author! I've listened to them all because I always know that I will love whatever she writes and I know it will always be an emotional ride. This book has everything... sexy bad boy, small town darling, mean girls, family issues and all kinds of other hard things. I loved Grace and how she didn't let Jackson push her around but I wish she would have had that same backbone with everyone else. Jackson is a jerk but deep down his is a good guy with lots of issues. This book has a great HEA! Loved the way this one left me feeling.
The narration was PERFECT! Loved both of them, they were really the best choice for these characters

The story is good HOWEVER
while I must admit the story is good and the male narrator was amazing (the female one needs work.) I found myself being disappointed with the author. we already live in a world where black lives don't matter, black women lives are a joke to mankind. You are a black author, yet all of your heroine roles are white? would it have killed you to make grace black? I have checked out a few of your books on here and not one represents black love or even a black female heroine. do you hate the skin you're in that much that you can't write about love for the black women? I don't care if the leading love was white, black women deserves love too, even in books representation matters..It truly saddens me, your entire catalog on here is nothing but white women (which cool no hate cause we all deserve love.) but as a black writer you don't write about black love? I can't understand why we don't deserve it in your eyes. I guess the saying is true, not all skin folk is kin folk..i will no longer be supporting your work. You're not worth my money.

A Romance about Ordinary people dealing with life
This is a MUST READ ROMANCE. I love the fact that this story is about ordinary people trying to deal with live and death. Heartache and tragedy. Love and hate. It shows that compassion, kindness and love can help heal a broken heart.

Small town love
I’m not really sure what to say about this one, so bear with me.
Periodically, I come across a book that really hits me in a weird sort of way. This one seemed a little slow to start. I didn’t love the main characters. I’m not a fan of flashbacks, etc.....
But, I couldn’t put it down. There was just something about it that kept me dangling on the hook.
Luckily, I finished it and realized that despite those items I listed above, the inspiration and overall storytelling was so beautiful. The characters are beautifully broken. It was real and so raw. I was simultaneously gutted and inspired. I think that’s the beauty of what this type of story offers it’s readers. It’s raw and so real. It pulled me in and made me examine the character’s motivations and inspirations. Ultimately, I found it to be a beautiful case study in the human condition.
The character development is amazing. The writing is great. The ending was more than satisfying. Overall, an amazingly heart-breaking and beautiful story.

Disgrace
Oh my heart, this book will grab you by the heartstrings. Grace and her husband are separating after a long hard road in their marriage. Grace finds herself back in her hometown where her father is the pastor which means she is one of the town’s darlings.
Ahh, small towns and their gossip normally I love it but these busybodies are not so kind, smile to your face and talk behind your back.
Grace meet’s Jackson the towns “bad boy/reject” he isn’t all that nice but Grace just sees something in him that she can’t walk away from. They forge a friendship that grows.
Graces ex isn’t a nice fella, but once he sees what he can’t have he wants her back. Isn’t that how it always it.
I won’t keep regurgitating the story you can listen for yourself.
I loved the characters; Ms. Cherry has a way of making you engage with them, you root for them you cheer them on. You’re sad when they are sad.
My favorite character was Grace's sister.
My least favorite was Autumn.
My favorite character that grew I have two, Jackson’s father and Graces Mother.
I was blown away by the narration, I loved the southern accent? I think that is what it was. It was perfect and I am so glad it didn’t sound forced but like the narrators actually speak like that.

Excellent
I wasn’t bored for a single moment. I didn’t feel like rolling my eyes once. I could empathize with most of the characters. The plot was solid, the chemistry was evident, the romance was sweet and big and the love was profound. The story tied up all the ends perfectly at the last and I will definitely listen to this one again. Also, great narration!

This should be ten stars!
I am in awe. This is an incredible story. It has love, angst, loyal dog Tucker, tragedy, bullying, wonderful uncle and this is just part of Jackson’s story. Her story has a less than supportive Mother, a cheating husband, history of seven miscarriages, an adoring and supportive sister. This goody too shoes everybody pleaser learns from Jackson how to discover herself and those around them get some lessons too. I laughed out loud, cried blooper tears, and stayed up ALL night to finish it. It is a treasure. Get the narration too. It’s excellent. Really brings the story to life. Highly recommend. Gonna be on my to be reread list.

It was alright
This was an ok listen, but didn’t grab me by the heart like ‘Behind the Bars’ (another book by this author) did. The small town pantomime cruelty and small mindedness got a bit tiresome, and the side character personality turn arounds at the end felt very fairytale and fake. It was alright though!
