Publisher's Summary

Don Quixote is one of the world's first novels and by far the best-known book in Spanish literature, was originally intended by Cervantes as a satire on traditional popular ballads, yet he also parodied the romances of chivalry. By happy coincidence he produced one of the most entertaining adventure stories of all time and, in Don Quixote and his faithful squire, Sancho Panza, two of the greatest characters in fiction.

An excellent narration for an average book.

The performance is absolutely fantastic and does more for the book than i would have thought possible. However the actual contents of the book are average. While it is amusing to hear about the delusions after some time it gets kind of boring and quite repetitive. Also it ended quite suddenly after the last duel.

I think that if not for the emotions i felt listening to the narrator I would have become quite bored well before the middle but due to the way it's recounted, filled with the different tones used to express all the emotions made it quite enjoyable in the end.

Also I believe you need a fairly high level of English to understand some of the dialogues in the middle. I know that I definitely got lost once or twice in those torrents of words.

Astoundingly well done

Amazing book. Layered with both wit and wisdom. The narration is also incredible and does justice to such a classic.
