The narration by Aparupa Sorkar is beautifully done and I'd like to hear more of her voice in audiobooks. Her voice is sweet yet strong and it was really engaging throughout.

Coming to the story, I don’t think there’s anything new I can say about such a classic book written in the early 1900s, but I must appreciate the fact that it has everything I love in a novel: a very interesting story of love and class differences, character-driven plots, third-person narration, social realism, and strong female characters.

Also, a small thing that I really liked is the presence of a prologue, where the author begins with glimpses of the past. The backdrop of early 20th-century Bengal casts a nostalgic image too.

Beautiful narration of an evergreen classic!
