Die dreizehnjährige Annegret kehrt nach der Schule nicht nach Hause zurück. Nach drei Tagen wird sie gefunden - nur dreihundert Meter von ihrem Elternhaus entfernt, tot. Journalist Siggi Baumeister erhält den Auftrag, die Geschichte zu recherchieren, und erfährt Unglaubliches: Chaos am Fundort der Leiche führt dazu, dass man zunächst noch nicht mal mit Sicherheit weiß, ob die Tat ein Sexualdelikt ist.
Baumeister macht sich mit Annegrets Umfeld vertraut und bald geht ihm der Fall sehr nahe. Dabei belasten ihn auch noch private Probleme: Tante Anni will sterben, seine Exfreundin Vera kehrt zurück und dann steht auch noch seine Tochter vor der Tür.
