Roberto Arlt (Buenos Aires, 1900-1942) fue un escritor, dramaturgo, periodista e inventor argentino. Ha sido definido como el escritor que inauguró la novela moderna argentina, por su estilo directo y "descuidado". Autodidacta y exponente del Grupo de Boedo, publicó reconocidas obras como El juguete rabioso (1926), Los siete locos (1929), Los lanzallamas (1931) y El amor brujo (1932), además de varios libros de cuentos, aguafuertes y obras de teatro.
