Roshan Kumar, awesome narration!

I first read phanishwarnath renu in my Hindi text book (2nd language in secondary school). we had a "lesson" titled "panchlight" (not part of this collection). renu is and always has been 5 star literature. it's a pity he's only accessible to the Hindi speaking world. recently geetanjali shree won a Booker of some sort (just how many of these do they distribute?!). I do not mean to take away anything away from that achievement, but by that chalk then, phanishwarnath nath Renu deserves the Nobel!

anyway I am hardly qualified to critique Phanishwarnath Renu but enough has been said about him already and one can always Wiki him down. suffice it to say that most of his stories are about "gaon dehaath", rustic and bucolic, if you will and representative of a time gone by.

A word about Roshan Kumar's narration. I am so glad that this wasn't done by a rookie. this audiobook is a pleasure to listen to, tremendous repeat value and i shall definitely revisit it. it's a keeper!
