On the first of August 1914, the Antarctic explorer, Sir Ernest Shackleton followed his natural bent and started on the Imperial TransAntarctic expedition on board the Endurance. It was struck by disaster.
Full-grown blizzards attacked the crew. The sea offered them perpetual choking mouthfuls of cold breezes. Icy draughts came swirling down upon them, making them shiver. All their bones ached. Their vile temporary tenements had holes, the chill rain, the snow, and the rude blast entered inside; the wet mist stiffened their limbs. These numbed limbs were gradually turning to stone. They were frozen to an icicle! It was a beastly wet atmosphere.
Shackleton and his team certainly put their heads together to good purpose, and came up with the best plans. In the stern school of extremity and danger their wills learnt to be strong, their hearts to be resolute, their minds to rely on themselves. Such power of persevering devoted labour is not common.

its crazy that the stuff mentioned here actually happened. it's sort of like reading a real life version of the alien or the prometheus movies. you will like this if you enjoy mountain of madness.

of course, the book is not exciting or anything. it's just a journal with stuff that happened. its dreadful but also an insight into human nature and the dangers of nature.

Enjoyed it thoroughly!!! Some people are crazy enough to go out on dangerous missions. But these are the people who make this world an interesting place. Shackleton and his team of brave sailors will stay on my mind for a long time.
The narration was excellent and all the emotions were captured perfectly.
